Georgia Accounting Community Raises $363,162.91 to Fight Hunger

The Georgia accounting community raised $363,162.91 through the 2026 Georgia Accounting Food Fight, an amount equivalent to 1,452,652 meals for Georgians in need, according to a joint announcement by The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and Feeding Georgia. The annual campaign, now in its thirteenth year, is a collaborative effort between the two organizations and is structured as a friendly statewide competition among accounting firms and industry accounting departments.

This year's campaign featured 53 team fundraising pages representing more than 4,400 employees across Georgia. Funds raised by participating teams stay local, benefiting the food bank that serves each team's community. The timing of the campaign is deliberate: it is scheduled to help food banks replenish resources following the increased demand of the summer months.

Julie Kuykendall, Executive Director of Feeding Georgia, expressed gratitude to participants. "To every accounting professional who competed, donated, rallied a team or encouraged a colleague - thank you," she said. "Your generosity strengthens the work of food banks and hunger-relief partners serving communities across our state. We are deeply thankful to The Georgia Society of CPAs and the accounting professionals who turned friendly competition into meaningful support for Georgia families. What you accomplished this year matters, and we hope it inspires even more people to join us. In 2027, we want to build on this momentum, welcome new teams to the competition and show just how much more we can accomplish together."

Top honors for the 2026 campaign went to Nichols Cauley, named the Statewide Hunger Champion for raising $53,405.16 across its combined teams, and Underwood Advisors, LLC, named the Statewide Food Fight Hero for raising $2,061.88 and earning the most points per employee statewide. Additional winners were recognized across firm size categories and industry accounting departments, including Deloitte Atlanta Audit & Assurance (Big Four - Overall and Per Employee), Forvis Mazars, LLP (Large Firm - Overall), Cherry Bekaert (Large Firm - Per Employee), Smith Adcock and Company LLP (Medium Firm - Overall and Per Employee), Rumph & Associates (Small Firm - Overall and Per Employee), Underwood Advisors, LLC (Sole Proprietor - Overall and Per Employee), and Teradata Corporation (Industry Accounting Department - Overall and Per Employee).

Boyd Search, CEO of The Georgia Society of CPAs, highlighted the broader impact of the initiative. "The Georgia Accounting Food Fight continues to demonstrate what our profession can accomplish when we come together in service to our communities," he said. "Since this effort began in 2014, Georgia's accounting community has raised $3,289,797.51 - helping provide 13,159,190 meals to our neighbors across the state. We are incredibly proud of the firms, companies and individuals who continue to make this campaign such a meaningful reflection of the spirit of our profession."

Since its inception in 2014, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised $3,289,797.51 in total, equivalent to 13,159,190 meals. The campaign's structure allows accounting firms of all sizes to participate, with categories ranging from sole proprietors to Big Four firms, fostering broad engagement across the profession. The implications of this announcement extend beyond the accounting profession. With food insecurity remaining a persistent challenge in Georgia, the funds raised provide critical support to the state's hunger-relief network. Feeding Georgia, the state's statewide hunger relief network, unites eight Feeding America food banks and partners with more than 2,000 food pantries to reach 156,500 Georgians in need every week. The $363,162.91 raised this year will help sustain those operations, ensuring that local food banks can continue to serve their communities. The Georgia Society of CPAs, with nearly 12,000 members, serves as the premier professional organization for CPAs in the state; its involvement underscores the accounting community's commitment to corporate social responsibility. As the 2026 campaign concludes, organizers are already looking ahead to 2027, with hopes of expanding participation and increasing the total raised. The sustained growth of the Georgia Accounting Food Fight since 2014 reflects a durable partnership between the accounting profession and hunger-relief organizations, one that delivers tangible benefits to communities across Georgia.
