The 34th Hong Kong International Optical Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organized by the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, will take place from 4 to 6 November 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme "Bright Eyes · New Horizons," the fair will feature more than 600 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, offering a comprehensive one-stop sourcing platform for smart eyewear, eye care, sports and specialist eyewear, frames, lenses, and more.
The event comes at a time of explosive growth in smart eyewear. According to IDC, global smart glasses shipments reached 3.566 million units in the first quarter of 2026, up 130.1% year-on-year. Market research firm Omdia reported that global AI eyewear shipments reached 8.7 million units in 2025, representing annual growth of 322%. HKTDC Associate Executive Director Smilely Lam noted that the eyewear industry is entering a new era driven by technological innovation, sustainability, and changing lifestyles, and that the fair aims to inspire the industry to explore emerging market opportunities and foster cross-industry collaboration.
The fair will showcase a wide array of smart eyewear equipped with augmented reality, AI voice assistants, real-time translation, 4K recording, and navigation functions. Exhibitors will also address the growing silver economy with progressive lenses, smart reading glasses, bone-conduction audio glasses, and eye-care devices designed for older consumers. Sports eyewear, performance eyewear, and sustainability-focused products will be among the highlights. The "Brand Name Gallery" will feature some 200 renowned brands from around the world, and the new "Visionaries of Style" zone will be dedicated to creative designer brands.
Pre-registered buyers from leading retailers and distributors worldwide, including Capitol Optical (Singapore), Eyespace Eyewear (UK), Grand Optik (Indonesia), and Optical London Drugs (Canada), demonstrate the event's strong international sourcing appeal. The fair will also host the 24th Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium on 5 November, under the theme "Primary Eye Care in Action: Elevating Clinical Scope and Community Impact," featuring experts from the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Australia, the UK, and the US discussing topics such as paediatric eye care, digital eye strain, and dry eye management.
For industry professionals, the fair offers a critical platform to stay abreast of trends and forge partnerships. The HKTDC's Click2Match online smart business-matching platform will run from 28 October to 13 November, seamlessly integrating online and offline elements to extend business opportunities. Buyers can register for a free badge through the registration link.
