IGM Exterior Cleaning, a Teesside-based exterior cleaning business founded by Ray Spashett in 2016, has launched a new website that puts its high-access work front and centre. The site explains how the firm uses its own cherry picker to clean and maintain properties at height, from tall homes to offices and industrial units, usually without the need for scaffolding.
A lot of exterior work is limited by what a ladder or tower can safely reach. Owning a cherry picker gives IGM a stable, properly positioned platform right up against a roof, a gutter run or a high wall. High gable ends, multi-storey gutters, chimneys, render, cladding and signage can be reached quickly, without the days of setup and takedown that scaffolding brings. The new cherry picker and high-access services page sets out how this works on both homes and commercial buildings.
"The jobs people struggle to get done are nearly always the ones up high," says Ray Spashett, owner of IGM Exterior Cleaning. "Having our own cherry picker means we can get right up to a gutter, a roof or a gable end safely, without anyone waiting on scaffolding. The new website shows exactly what that access makes possible, whether it is a house or a commercial building."
The new website details the high-access work IGM carries out, including gutter, fascia and soffit cleaning on tall or awkward properties, including high-level runs and box gutters; high-level roof cleaning and moss removal; solar panel cleaning on roofs a water-fed pole cannot reach; cherry picker hire with a MEWP-qualified operator for roofers, builders, signwriters and tree surgeons; and render, cladding and brick cleaning at height. Because the operator comes with the machine, trades using the hire service do not need their own IPAF licence. On commercial sites, IGM works to the site's safety requirements and provides RAMS on request.
Alongside its high-access work, the website covers IGM's residential services, from driveways and patios to block paving and conservatories, and a commercial services section for offices, landlords and property managers.
IGM has traded across Teesside since 2016 and is insured. Ray Spashett is a MEWP-qualified cherry picker operator and still prices every job himself after visiting the property. Recent high-access work includes the historic 1689 building on Finkle Street in Stockton-on-Tees, where IGM worked from its cherry picker for Hartburn Roofing on a busy town-centre street. Roof cleaning uses a low-pressure rotary wash angled down the pitch, finished with biocide and backed by a 12-month no-regrowth guarantee.
Every job starts with a site visit and a free, no-obligation quote, with the price confirmed before work begins. IGM covers the whole of Teesside, including Stockton-on-Tees, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Redcar, Yarm, Guisborough and Billingham. Homeowners, businesses and trades can request a quote through the contact page.
