NEWARK, DE – Intellitec Solutions, a trusted enterprise resource planning (ERP) advisor and reseller, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week. The milestone marks a quarter century of helping organizations turn technology into business advantage, a mission that has remained constant even as the industry has transformed dramatically.
The company's origins trace back to 1986, when its founding team was part of an accounting firm. Clients frequently approached them with a common frustration: their accounting software was not meeting their needs, and they could not find adequate support. The team, leveraging their CPA expertise, stepped in to solve these problems, quickly discovering a knack for it. This problem-solving capability evolved into a standalone business, not built around selling software, but around helping clients use existing technology more intelligently.
“That's the part of our story I'm proudest of,” said Rick Sommer, President of Intellitec Solutions and a member of the founding team. “We didn't start out trying to sell anyone anything. We started out solving a problem our clients actually had. Twenty-five years later, that's still the whole job. Helping organizations use technology intelligently, not just use more of it. Everything else we've built follows from that.”
Over the years, the technology landscape has shifted from on-premise servers to cloud-native platforms and from manual data entry to automated, real-time reporting. Despite these changes, the team's core approach has remained steady. Fourteen of Intellitec's current employees have been with the company since its earliest days, accumulating decades of pattern recognition that now serves as a sharp competitive advantage. This deep expertise allows the firm to provide informed guidance on whatever platform a client is running today.
The company's growth is evident in its numbers. What began as a fourteen-person team has expanded into a 42-person practice, and Intellitec is now recognized as a leading partner of Sage and Microsoft. This growth has been supported by collaborations with technology partners such as PointClickCare, Solver, and others, whose platforms Intellitec has helped clients implement effectively.
“The tools we use today look nothing like the ones we started on, and honestly, that's the fun part of the job. There's always something new to learn,” said Tom Rogers, Senior ERP Advisor at Intellitec and one of the company's first fourteen employees. “But the instinct for what a client actually needs hasn't changed since day one. If anything, having seen so many platforms and so many trends come and go makes it easier to tell clients what's actually going to matter for their business, and what's just noise.”
The anniversary will be marked throughout the year with content spotlighting the team, clients, and lessons learned from decades of ERP implementations and support. The company emphasizes that its goal remains unchanged: technology is only as good as the guidance behind it.
