Jones & Swanson, a Marietta-based personal injury law firm with more than 50 years of combined legal experience, has announced the addition of Ella J. Mitchell to its legal team. Mitchell becomes the firm's first female attorney in its history, marking an important milestone for the firm as it continues to grow.
Mitchell, a Marietta native, brings a unique perspective to the firm. She was born and raised in Marietta and attended Mount Paran Christian School before earning two bachelor's degrees from the University of Georgia in Political Science and International Affairs. She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2025, where she served on the editorial board of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law, served as Treasurer of the Georgia Student Trial Lawyers Association, and participated in the Criminal Defense Practicum.
Before joining Jones & Swanson, Mitchell practiced insurance defense, giving her firsthand experience with how insurance companies and defendants evaluate and defend injury claims. This background now informs her approach to representing injured individuals and families.
"Personal injury law is about more than the legal process," Mitchell said. "It is about the people behind each case. I value getting to know my clients, understanding what they have been through, and helping them navigate what can be an overwhelming process."
The addition of Mitchell is seen as a new chapter for Jones & Swanson. The firm has built a strong reputation, with more than 500 Google reviews and a 5.0 rating, and has recovered millions of dollars for clients in cases involving automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, trucking accidents, and other serious injury claims.
"Having the first female attorney join our firm is an important milestone in the history of Jones & Swanson, but what makes this moment even more exciting is the person Ella is and the perspective she brings to our team," said a representative from the firm. "Having served as an insurance defense attorney, she has unique experience of what it's like on the other side of our cases."
Mitchell's arrival also represents a new generation of leadership for the firm. As a lifelong resident of Marietta, she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community that helped shape her. "I am grateful to live and work in a community I have called home for so many years, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the people who make it such a special place," she said.
Jones & Swanson handles a wide range of personal injury matters, including car and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, catastrophic injuries, pedestrian accidents, slip and fall cases, dog bites, wrongful death, and other injury claims. The firm emphasizes individualized representation, taking the time to understand each client's circumstances. With offices in Marietta and Cartersville, the firm serves clients throughout the surrounding Georgia communities, including Kennesaw, Acworth, Woodstock, Mableton, Sandy Springs, Dallas, and Roswell.
