Kaufman & Company, the permanent capital holding company founded by Daniel Kaufman, has announced the launch of eight brands that will serve as the public face of its development, construction, and operations. The brands—Haven, Foundry, Trellis, Convivium, Everwell, District, Weekender, and ZeroPoint—are organized into three categories: Residential, Places, and Infrastructure. The move comes as the platform has expanded to ten operating companies spanning residential development, workforce housing, AI infrastructure, and venture capital.
The new brands are designed to address the distinct needs of different audiences, from families seeking attainable homes to hyperscale tenants requiring power and capacity. Each brand represents a community or asset class focus rather than a separate legal entity, and all are endorsed by Kaufman & Company and built and operated by one of its ten operating companies. This structure ensures that the development discipline, balance sheet, and long-term ownership remain consistent across all projects.
In the Residential category, Haven focuses on attainable housing, with a belief that it is an infrastructure problem, not a charity problem. Operated by Design Build Affordable, Haven delivers new construction apartment and townhome communities, public-private partnerships, and walkable, village-scale planning. Featured concepts include Haven at Shelburne in Vermont and Heron Bend in Southwest Florida. Foundry builds workforce housing communities near employment centers, transit, and everyday life, operated by DanReDev, with projects like Falls Landing in Winooski, Vermont, and the multi-state Beacon Portfolio. Trellis targets the scalable middle market, building townhomes, cottages, small multifamily buildings, and build-to-rent neighborhoods, operated by Kaufman Development, with Greenview Residences in Fredericksburg, Virginia, completed three months ahead of schedule and six percent under budget. Convivium is a vertically integrated platform for tech-forward residential, co-living, co-working, and hospitality communities, addressing both cost-burdened renters and those seeking community. Everwell is the active adult and independent living brand, operated by Lonestar Kaufman, with its first concept, Everwell at Harpeth Reserve, in the Nashville market.
In the Places category, District builds mixed-use destinations that combine living, working, dining, and gathering within walkable blocks, operated by Forge Development Partners, with projects like Mill Creek Junction in Antioch, Tennessee. Weekender is the design-driven hospitality brand, operated by DEK Builds, with boutique and destination hotels tailored to specific locations; its first properties will be announced as they move into development.
In Infrastructure, ZeroPoint serves as the institutional brand for AI infrastructure, including physical buildings, power systems, and networks. Its first deployment, Project Zero, is a working distributed micro data center prototype in Detroit, Michigan. The pipeline includes the Rio Grande Data Campus in El Paso, Texas, and the Wasatch Data Campus in Utah, both joint ventures between Lonestar Kaufman Development Partners and ServerDomes Global. ZeroPoint is operated by Kaufman Development.
The brand rollout will continue over the next twelve months, with every asset in the current portfolio and future pipeline rebranded under the appropriate brand, including signage, websites, marketing materials, and resident-facing communications. Several pipeline communities have already transitioned, such as Haven at Shelburne, Foundry’s Falls Landing, Trellis’s Greenview Residences, and Everwell at Harpeth Reserve. New opportunities will launch under a brand from day one. The ten operating companies remain the builders and operators behind every brand, and existing partners, lenders, and municipal relationships continue unchanged.
“We have been building across almost every asset class at once, and the work deserved names that say what it is,” said Daniel Kaufman, Founder and CEO. “A Haven community, a Foundry community and a ZeroPoint campus solve very different problems. Our operating companies still do the building. The brands tell residents, partners and cities what they can count on from us, wherever we show up.”
The rebranding effort aims to provide clarity and consistency for residents, partners, and cities, helping them understand what each Kaufman & Company property offers and who it serves. By aligning its public identity with its diverse operations, the company seeks to strengthen its market position and facilitate future growth across all asset classes.
