Keyrenter Property Management, a leading residential real estate franchisor, is riding a summer hot streak, having awarded 14 new territories since the start of 2026 and surpassing a significant milestone: establishing its 100th location since it began franchising in 2014. The company has also appointed franchise industry veteran Eric Steward, CFE, as its new Vice-President of Onboarding.
According to a press release, the new territories include locations in Colorado, California, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Michigan, and New Mexico. Five candidates are currently preparing for their Discovery Day sessions as early as next week, indicating continued momentum in the coming months.
Nate Tew, co-founder and CEO of Keyrenter Property Management, emphasized the significance of this expansion. "On behalf of the brand and all of our valued stakeholders, we're pleased to announce the awarding of these 14 new territories," Tew said. "Not only does this greatly expand our brand's footprint, but we've also surpassed a significant milestone of establishing more than 100 franchise locations coast-to-coast. We're also honored to have Eric Steward join us here at Keyrenter Property Management, who will be overseeing all activities from signed franchise agreements through the rest of the onboarding process for our growing network of franchisee partners."
Eric Steward brings over a dozen years of franchising experience, particularly in the residential real estate space, having worked at Pillar to Post in various recruiting roles. He started as a marketing coordinator and rose through the ranks to become senior director of franchise recruiting. In his new role, Steward will oversee the onboarding process for new franchisees, a critical function given the recent surge in signings.
"Joining the team of an industry leading brand like Keyrenter is a dream come true opportunity," Steward stated. "The fact that they also operate in the residential real estate space where I have direct category experience is a plus and I hope to make several meaningful contributions in my new role as the head of onboarding activities. With the recent awarding of over a dozen new locations, I have my work cut out for me, but I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and get started."
Keyrenter was founded in 2007 in Midvale, Utah, and began franchising in 2014. The network now comprises 94 franchisee partners representing 101 locations. Franchisees provide a range of residential property management services, including rent collection, repair, routine maintenance, and securing tenants for vacant homes.
The expansion comes amid favorable market conditions for the residential real estate industry. With an estimated 25 million single-family rental (SFR) units, only 4% are institutionally owned, leaving ample opportunity for independent property managers. External factors such as high rent-to-buyer ratios, stubbornly high mortgage interest rates, and a tightening lending environment continue to attract interest from qualified candidates.
This milestone underscores the growing demand for property management services and the franchise model's appeal in a recession-resistant industry. For more information about Keyrenter's franchise opportunities, visit https://franchising.keyrenter.com.
