Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning has made an in-kind donation to Hugs for Harry Dog Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehabilitating vulnerable dogs throughout the Bay Area. The company donated and installed a 40-gallon electric water heater at the rescue's facility, providing the infrastructure needed to support improved animal care operations.
The water heater will supply hot water to a new in-house laundry facility and a dog washing station - both essential for maintaining sanitation, cleanliness, and proper grooming standards for animals in the rescue's care. These additions are expected to reduce ongoing operational costs while strengthening the overall health and wellbeing of the dogs housed at the facility.
Hugs for Harry relocated to a new Lafayette, California location in January 2026. Although the move offered additional space to accommodate growing rescue efforts, it also introduced a number of necessary infrastructure improvements. Access to hot water and adequate plumbing were among the most pressing needs, yet financial limitations made progress difficult before Stewart Heating, Plumbing & Air Conditioning stepped forward.

"Providing this water heater and installation is a small way we can contribute to the comfort and care of these animals and the people who dedicate their time to helping them."
Hugs for Harry rescues dogs from a range of difficult circumstances, including abandonment, medical neglect, and overcrowded shelters where animals face the risk of euthanasia. The organization depends on community donations and volunteer involvement to sustain its ongoing mission.
