Laurion Mineral Exploration Expands Phase 1 Drilling at Ishkōday Project Following High-Grade Gold Assays

LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME | OTC: LMEFF | FSE: 5YD) has reported assay results from six drill holes completed as part of its 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results include high-grade gold intersections that the company says will help refine its geological understanding of the A-Zone and support the evaluation of a potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).

The company increased its planned Phase 1 drilling from 3,865 metres to 5,605 metres across 22 drill holes, driven by SRK Consulting’s independent structural gap analysis of the A-Zone. That analysis identified five priority target areas where additional drilling may address key gaps in the existing drill database. LAURION is using this framework, together with ongoing drill results, to prioritize near-term drilling as it systematically advances exploration of the A-Zone.

“LBX26-117 returned 1.80 metres grading 17.10 g/t gold, including 0.80 metres at 31.50 g/t gold, together with a broader 10.05-metre interval of gold-bearing polymetallic mineralization deeper in the hole,” said Cynthia Le Sueur-Aquin, President and CEO. She also noted that LBX26-121, drilled from the same collar at a shallower angle, intersected gold at several levels, including 5.20 metres grading 1.067 g/t gold with 1.11% zinc, and that LBX26-116 returned 2.80 metres grading 2.261 g/t gold. “This drilling is designed to address the specific gaps identified by SRK Consulting, improve our understanding of the continuity and geometry of mineralization between drill holes, and build a reliable technical foundation at the A-Zone,” she added.

The six holes discussed in the release total 1,227 metres. This figure is not the total 2026 program metreage. LBX26-113 was designed as a twin of historical hole 92-65 to verify previously reported high-grade mineralization; the new assays returned lower grades than the historical results, and the company will evaluate the implications for its historical drill database. LBX26-114A replaced LBX26-114 after it was abandoned due to an orientation issue.

Other notable intervals include LBX26-116’s 20.05 metres grading 0.411 g/t gold, 3.76 g/t silver and 0.61% zinc, and LBX26-115’s 4.35 metres grading 0.820 g/t gold, 9.65 g/t silver and 0.66% zinc. LBX26-121 also returned 0.65 metres grading 6.240 g/t gold and 5.60 g/t silver.

All core lengths are drilled thicknesses; true widths have not yet been determined. The technical contents of the release were reviewed and approved by Dr. Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P.Geo., a Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101. LAURION is a mid-stage Canadian mineral exploration company focused on advancing the Ishkōday Project, which covers approximately 57 square kilometres within the Beardmore–Geraldton and Onaman–Tashota Greenstone Belts. Historical and modern exploration programs have completed over 100,000 metres of drilling. For more information, visit http://www.LAURION.ca or view the original release on www.newmediawire.com.
