LION E-Mobility AG (LION; ISIN: CH0560888270), a manufacturer of battery packs for electric mobility and energy storage, has published its preliminary consolidated H1 2026 figures. The company reported revenue of EUR 6.9 million for the first half of 2026, down from EUR 10.4 million in the same period last year, primarily due to a planned two-month factory shutdown for conversion to its new high-performance NMC+ battery-pack technology. EBITDA for the period was EUR 0.1 million, compared with EUR 1.3 million in H1 2025.
The temporary shutdown, which occurred in Q2 2026, affected battery pack production. Sales during the quarter were generated from inventory produced before the shutdown. Production resumed as planned at the end of June, marking an operational milestone for the company. The new NMC+ battery packs are designed for demanding applications in e-mobility, industrial uses, and safety-critical segments, offering high performance and robust system architecture.
Dr. Joachim Damasky, CEO of LION E-Mobility AG, commented: “The successful resumption of production of our high-performance NMC+ battery packs marks an important milestone for LION E-Mobility. We are entering the second half of the year with a strong technology platform, growing market interest and promising opportunities across e-mobility and stationary energy storage. While the transition affected our performance in the first half, we remain confident in our ability to deliver significant revenue growth and strongly positive EBITDA for the full year 2026.”
In addition to its core business, LION is expanding its stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS) segment. The company’s Finsterwalde BESS project, developed in cooperation with Renoc GmbH, has completed its first construction phase, providing an installed capacity of 5 MW with 20 MWh of storage capacity. The facility uses LION Smart BESS containers designed for grid-connected applications. The second construction phase, planned for early 2027, will increase storage capacity to 40 MWh and installed power to 15 MW. The company sees the Finsterwalde facility as a reference project for future customers and investors.
LION’s BESS project pipeline is growing, positioning the company as a systems supplier and technology partner for grid-scale storage solutions across Germany and Europe. The company expects to benefit from increasing demand for energy storage as renewable energy integration expands.
Looking ahead to the full year 2026, LION confirms its forecast of revenue exceeding EUR 35 million and strongly positive EBITDA. Following the transition to NMC+ battery packs in the first half, a substantial share of revenue is expected in the second half, with Q4 being the strongest quarter. The company also sees further growth potential in BESS and is strengthening its team to accelerate expansion in this area.
