The Mad Hatter's July 4th Waterfront Festival is set to return for its 12th year on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Barbara Kondylis Waterfront Park in Vallejo, California. The event, produced by Hyperion Community Partners LLC in partnership with the City of Vallejo, expects to entertain thousands with a full day of activities from daybreak to sundown, followed by a family-friendly Night Market that lights up with live entertainment until the evening fireworks.

Attendees can spend the day on Vallejo's waterfront overlooking Mare Island's classic maritime ships docked at the island's shipbuilding facilities. The festival features an array of peddlers and merchants, including makers, food trucks, wellness activities, and other family-friendly happenings. Highlights include the popular Annual Maritime Dog Parade, interactive exhibits with the Wholly Wackers (sheep), rescued reptiles, a Kids Zone, giant kites, classic cars, cultural performances, and live music.

As dusk approaches, visitors can enjoy dining at the international food court, which serves a myriad of cuisines, while shopping in the Night Market and being entertained with live performances before the evening Lighted Sky Show brightens with a grand finale. The fireworks display will celebrate Independence Day's 250th anniversary.

The Mad Hatter's July 4th Waterfront Festival is one of two major holiday events produced by Hyperion Community Partners LLC in Vallejo. The other is The Mad Hatter Holiday Festival, Parade & Tree Lighting, held on the first Saturday of December each year. More information about the July 4th festival can be found on the event's website at HatterVallejo.com and on Facebook at facebook.com/MadHatterHolidayVallejo.

A YouTube video produced by WhatSF, a weekly television program that aired in San Francisco, has highlighted the festival and garnered a growing viewership of over 100,000. The video can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN6MhLHYFrI.

The festival's significance lies in its role as a community gathering that celebrates Independence Day with a blend of daytime recreation, cultural performances, and a unique night market experience. For residents and visitors alike, the event offers an opportunity to enjoy Vallejo's waterfront, support local vendors, and participate in family-friendly activities. The 250th anniversary of Independence Day adds historical weight to the celebration, making it a notable occasion for the region. The combination of traditional July 4th elements with the festival's distinctive features, such as the Maritime Dog Parade and giant kites, creates a memorable experience that draws thousands annually.
