Group earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) improved to EUR 26.6 million, compared to EUR 22.4 million in the prior year, representing a gain of EUR 4.3 million.

“We were able to build consistently on the positive momentum from the first quarter. This is clearly reflected in our half-year results: stability in our core business areas, efficient cost management and targeted investments have helped us to achieve our earnings targets for the second quarter. We remain determined to maintain this momentum and to strengthen MEDICLIN’s growth in the long term,” commented Tino Fritz, CFO of MEDICLIN.

The company treated a total of 54,708 patients in the first half of 2026, compared to 53,183 in the previous year. Performance varied by segment. The Post-Acute segment, which includes rehabilitation services, generated revenues of EUR 263.0 million, up 4.6 percent from EUR 251.5 million. Segment EBIT rose to EUR 25.6 million from EUR 23.3 million, driven by a slight decrease in the cost of materials ratio to 19.0 percent from 20.0 percent. However, staff costs increased by 7.2 percent to EUR 145.2 million, pushing the staff costs ratio to 55.2 percent.

The Acute Care segment reported revenues of EUR 111.2 million, compared to EUR 104.6 million in the previous year. Despite higher revenues, EBIT remained negative at EUR -1.1 million, unchanged from the prior year, as cost of materials rose 12.2 percent to EUR 34.6 million and staff costs increased 6.3 percent to EUR 68.6 million. The cost of materials ratio increased to 31.1 percent from 29.5 percent, while the staff cost ratio remained relatively stable at 61.7 percent.

Revenue in the Care segment grew to EUR 12.3 million from EUR 12.1 million, and segment EBIT turned positive at EUR 0.2 million, compared to a loss of EUR 0.2 million in the prior year. The Service segment reported other income of EUR 69.2 million, up slightly from EUR 68.5 million, and EBIT improved to EUR 1.9 million from EUR 0.5 million.

For the full financial year, the management board expects consolidated group revenue growth of between 3.5% and 6.5%, and group EBIT in the range of EUR 57.0 million to EUR 72.0 million. The interim report as at 30 June 2026 is available on the company's website at www.mediclin.de in German and English.

The results indicate that MEDICLIN is successfully navigating a challenging healthcare environment, with stable core business and effective cost management. The increase in patient volume and revenue suggests sustained demand for its rehabilitation and acute care services, which is important for stakeholders monitoring the German healthcare market. The company's focus on integrated care and its position within the ASKLEPIOS Group provide a foundation for long-term growth.
