Nicola Mining Reports Initial Gold and Silver Assays from Red Eye Resources Stockpiles

Nicola Mining Inc. (NASDAQ: NICM) (TSX.V: NIM) (FSE: HLIA) has announced initial assay results from two mill feed stockpiles containing material from Red Eye Resources Ltd., with which the company entered into a profit-share agreement in August. The samples, totaling 47.82 kilograms, were taken from stockpiles estimated at approximately 1,200 tonnes and 300 tonnes. The assays returned an overall weighted average grade of 2.83 grams per tonne gold and 753.41 grams per tonne silver.

The company plans to proceed with laboratory simulations aimed at maximizing recovery and evaluating potential processing at its Merritt Mill, located near Merritt, British Columbia. The fully permitted mill can process both gold and silver mill feed via gravity and flotation processes. Nicola Mining holds a 100% interest in the mill and tailings facility, which is a key asset for processing material from high-grade gold projects under its Mining and Milling Profit Share Agreements.

However, Nicola cautioned that the assay results should not be considered representative of the entire stockpiles. Buried material was inaccessible during sampling, additional material was subsequently added to the larger pile, and the assay results showed high variability. These factors indicate that the true grade of the stockpiles may differ from the initial weighted average.

The Red Eye Resources agreement is part of Nicola's strategy to generate revenue through toll milling and profit-sharing arrangements. By processing material from other companies, Nicola can utilize its mill capacity without the capital expenditure of developing its own mines. The positive initial results suggest potential for profitable processing, but further test work is necessary to determine economic viability.

The announcement is significant for Nicola Mining as it moves forward with evaluating new feed sources for its mill. The company's Merritt Mill is strategically located and fully permitted, making it an attractive partner for junior miners with high-grade deposits but lacking processing facilities. If laboratory simulations confirm recoverable grades, Nicola could enter into a processing agreement that provides a steady revenue stream.

For the broader mining industry, this development highlights the growing trend of profit-share and toll milling arrangements, which allow smaller companies to advance projects without the heavy capital costs of building a mill. It also underscores the value of infrastructure assets like Nicola's mill in the current mining landscape.

Nicola Mining also owns 100% of the New Craigmont Project, a high-grade copper property covering 10,913 hectares adjacent to Highland Valley Copper, Canada's largest copper mine. Additionally, the company owns the Treasure Mountain Property, which includes 30 mineral claims and a mineral lease spanning over 2,200 hectares. These assets provide long-term growth potential beyond the near-term milling opportunities.

Investors and stakeholders will be watching for the results of the laboratory simulations, which will provide more clarity on the potential recoveries and economics of processing the Red Eye stockpiles. The company has not provided a timeline for when these results will be available, but they are expected to be a key catalyst for the stock.
