ChillyRoom Game's Independent Studio Crit Team has announced the release of a public multiplayer demo for their upcoming top-down PvE extraction shooter, No Such Place. The demo became available on Steam on June 15, 2026, just ahead of Steam Next Fest, and offers early access to the game's progression systems. It supports solo play and 1–4 player online co-op, with partial progression data carrying over to the full release. The demo is available in English, Japanese, and Chinese.
In No Such Place, players assume the role of agents from the Unknown Research Consortium (U.R.C.), a mysterious organization dedicated to investigating supernatural anomalies that have been erased from known history. Agents are dispatched into fragmented dimensions where they must survive hostile environments, gather supplies and intelligence, and locate an extraction point before time runs out. The game's environments include abandoned military outposts, mist-shrouded research facilities, eternal forests, and frozen mountains. Players scavenge for weapons, medicine, equipment, and provisions while uncovering ancient relics, unidentified specimens, and classified documents.
Survival is paramount, and every mission ends with the same objective: find the extraction point, return to the Safehouse, and get out alive. However, threats are not limited to the monstrous creatures that inhabit these dimensions. Rival agents, mercenaries, and deranged survivors also search these shattered worlds for their own purposes, making other people the deadliest threat.
No Such Place features a flexible weapon customization system that allows players to build impossible weapons using corrupted technology. Players can attach a motorcycle suppressor to an assault rifle, mount a Victorian brass scope on modern military hardware, or slot a corrupted rifle magazine into a pocket pistol. In anomalous dimensions, compatibility no longer matters, enabling a wide range of combinations and effects.
The game also offers multiple progression paths. As players survive missions, their physical attributes and weapon proficiencies grow alongside experience, pushing beyond human limits. Resources recovered during expeditions can be used to build and upgrade the player's Safehouse, turning scrap into a foundation for future survival. Up to four players can team up to explore together, covering more ground, taking on dangerous objectives, and maximizing gains before extraction.
The full release of No Such Place is expected in Q4 2026 on Steam. For more information, visit the Steam page or the official website.
