Novogenia AG (ticker symbol: 7V0, formerly Darwin AG), an international healthcare company focused on human genetics and personalized products, has published its issuer report for the first half of 2026. The report, announced via NEWMEDIAWIRE, details financial performance and strategic advancements amid a challenging market environment.
Consolidated revenue for H1 2026 was EUR 25.7 million, down 7% from EUR 26.5 million in the prior-year period. The decline was primarily attributed to lower volumes in the pharmaceutical and medical device trading segment due to regulatory changes. However, the DNA analysis and personalized products segment achieved positive revenue growth. Cost savings in materials, personnel, and other operating expenses led to an improvement in operating profit of approximately EUR 2.7 million. Despite this, EBIT remained negative at EUR -4.7 million, a 4.1% improvement from the previous year, as prior-year one-time effects had boosted other operating income. Consolidated net income was EUR -2.1 million, compared to a positive EUR 2.0 million in H1 2025, which had benefited from a higher financial result. Cash and cash equivalents stood at EUR 39.8 million as of June 30, 2026, down from EUR 71.9 million, but the company maintains a solid financial position.
CEO Dr. Daniel Wallerstorfer commented, “The financial performance in the first half of 2026 did not meet our expectations in all business areas. Thus, we have not yet been able to realize our ambitious growth plans. However, we are encouraged by the positive year-on-year development of our core business in DNA analyses and personalized health products, as well as by a significant reduction in our cost base.” He added that the company has made progress in developing new products and advancing strategic partnerships, laying the foundation for key product launches in the second half of the year. Novogenia is also working to mitigate the impact of changes to digital platform algorithms on its sales channels while further reducing costs.
Strategically, Novogenia expanded its collaboration with 10X Health Systems, launched the enhanced Methylation Test MGT Plus in the U.S., and advanced preparations for a Middle East market launch with G42 in Abu Dhabi, including Halal certification. The company also introduced the Multi-Cancer Check and a new software platform for its NovoDaily line. Construction of a new company site in Hallwang near Salzburg commenced, with completion planned for early 2028. The facility will cover over 9,300 square meters and provide modern laboratory, production, and R&D capacities. The renaming from Darwin AG to Novogenia AG was implemented in July 2026 to consolidate brand identity.
Novogenia will engage with investors at several upcoming conferences. Dr. Wallerstorfer will present at the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit from October 20–22, 2026, and both he and CIO Felix Bausch will attend the Deutsches Eigenkapitalforum from November 23–25, 2026. Bausch will also participate in the 5th Zurich Investor Day on September 29, 2026, and the ODDO BHF Autumn Round Table on October 22, 2026. This news matters as it highlights Novogenia’s resilience in a shifting healthcare landscape, with growth in personalized genetics offsetting declines in other segments. The strategic moves, including international expansion and infrastructure investment, position the company to capitalize on the growing demand for personalized prevention and healthcare. For investors, the solid cash position and cost reductions may signal potential for improved performance in the latter half of 2026.
