PowerHouse Automotive Group announced on July 2 the acquisition of Griffin Chevrolet of Sylvester, marking its fifth dealership, its first Chevrolet franchise, and the creation of a new multi-brand “Sylvester campus” in Southwest Georgia. The transaction closed on July 1, 2026. Located at 1006 W. Franklin St. in Sylvester, Griffin Chevrolet sits right next to PowerHouse’s Ford Sylvester dealership at 1002 W. Franklin St. Placing the two dealerships literally side-by-side creates PowerHouse’s first true automotive campus, offering customers in the Sylvester area access to Ford and Chevrolet vehicle lineups, sales, and services at a single location.
“July 1 marks a major milestone for PowerHouse,” said CEO Fernando Arellano Geddes. “Adding Chevrolet to our lineup and building our first campus right here in Sylvester is exactly the kind of growth we set out to achieve when we founded this company seven months ago: expanding choices for our customers while deepening our roots in the communities we already call home.” Arellano Geddes brings over two decades of automotive retail leadership to the venture, having led organizations comprising up to 22 operations, including extensive experience successfully managing General Motors dealerships. That track record is part of what makes the Chevrolet acquisition personally significant for him. “Having achieved excellent results managing GM dealerships, there is something truly special about bringing Chevrolet back into the family here in Sylvester,” Arellano Geddes stated. “This is not unfamiliar territory for us; it is a manufacturer we know well and with whom we have had great success, and we are excited to bring that experience to this community.”
The acquisition expands PowerHouse’s presence in Sylvester, where the company has operated the Ford Sylvester dealership since acquiring the Sunbelt Ford group in December 2025. With this agreement, PowerHouse now operates five dealerships in Southwest Georgia—Ford Albany, Ford Americus, Ford Cordele, Ford Sylvester, and the newly acquired Chevrolet Sylvester—and adds its first non-Ford brand to its portfolio. PowerHouse plans to retain the Griffin Chevrolet team and integrate the location into its existing operational and community programs, including its workforce development initiatives and support for the region’s military families. The automotive complex model in Sylvester is expected to serve as a blueprint for future multi-brand growth as PowerHouse continues to expand.
“Bringing Chevrolet into the family isn’t just about adding a fifth dealership; it’s about offering our neighbors in Sylvester more of what they’ve been asking for, without having to leave town to get it,” added Arellano Geddes. The acquisition underscores PowerHouse’s commitment to community-centric growth, providing local customers with broader choices and convenience. By consolidating Ford and Chevrolet services on a single campus, the group aims to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. This strategic move also signals PowerHouse’s ambition to diversify its brand portfolio and replicate the campus model in other markets. For the automotive industry, the acquisition highlights a trend toward multi-brand consolidation, enabling dealers to capture a larger share of the local market while leveraging shared resources. The impact on Sylvester residents is immediate: they now have access to two major American brands without traveling to larger cities, potentially reducing costs and improving service accessibility.
