Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to align with the operations of high-performing franchise recruitment teams. Developed in collaboration with FranMan, a specialist in creating professional operating manuals, the revised guide integrates established recruitment principles with contemporary tools and methodologies. This marks the first major update to the manual since 2021.
Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized that the core tenets of franchise recruitment remain unchanged, but the landscape has evolved. “The fundamentals of great franchise recruitment haven't changed, and we don't want them to,” he stated. “What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated. We want to take an already powerful resource and make it even more relevant to how champion recruiters operate today.”
The manual serves as a practical framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining recruiter responsibilities and guiding candidates through ROS®'s proprietary 8-Step recruitment process. However, the pace and nature of franchise recruiting have shifted significantly since the last edition. Recruiters now have access to expanded datasets, AI-driven technologies, and sophisticated candidate intelligence. The updated manual combines timeless recruitment principles with modern tools and best practices to help recruiters perform at the highest level.
In updating the manual, ROS® collaborated with FranMan to oversee the project and organize the expanded content. Key updates include sections on recruitment analytics, which teach recruiters to use data to understand their pipeline and make better decisions; artificial intelligence, offering practical best practices for responsible AI use; and recruiter behaviors and performance, focusing on daily, weekly, and monthly habits of high performers. The manual also addresses different types of franchise buyers, such as multi-unit and institutional investors, and strengthens guidance on candidate funding while avoiding vendor-specific recommendations.
Additional enhancements include expanded FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) and recruitment process best practices, as well as integration with other ROS® educational resources like ROS Academy™, video, and digital content. Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the importance of analytics in the updated manual. “Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report - the information is far too valuable,” he said. “We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them. What we’ve accomplished by expanding our guidance in the analytics space is in tying their importance directly to recruiter behaviors and execution - which represents a significant step forward in the process.”
The updated manual aims to advance industry standards by incorporating the latest developments in procedures, tools, and candidate behaviors. It offers franchise recruitment professionals a holistic approach to continuous improvement and outcomes. For more information about ROS® and its services, visit https://www.recruitwithros.com.
