Weatherford, Texas – Licensed barber Seven Nelson has opened SevensCutAbove at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway, offering a range of barbering services including sensory-safe haircuts for clients with special needs or haircut trauma. A graduate of Weatherford College's Barber Program, Nelson spent two years in the industry before launching his own shop, drawing on experience gained from his mother, a hairstylist.
Nelson emphasizes a client-centered approach, taking time with each customer to ensure the desired look while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. “I have a lot of passion for what I'm doing,” Nelson said. “I take my time with each client, to make certain that I execute the image they had in mind, along with providing laidback, chill vibes. It's important to me that every client leaves feeling confident again.” Services include sharp, detailed cuts, fades, low drops, tapers, hot-lather shaves, and beard shape-ups.
A key differentiator is Nelson's specialization in sensory-safe cuts, designed for individuals with sensory issues due to special needs or past haircut trauma. Accommodations include a soothing environment with softer lighting, quieter spaces, flexible pacing, and breaks. If clippers cause distress, Nelson uses scissors. “As a sensory-safe barber, I've learned how to work with kids in the spectrum,” Nelson said. “My goal is to create trust, not trauma.”
SevensCutAbove also offers quick line-ups, beard shape-ups, hot lather shaves, and simple cornrows. Appointments are required and can be booked through Nelson's booking site. To celebrate the grand opening, new clients receive a $5 discount on the third haircut and a $10 discount on the sixth cut.
