SFC Energy AG, an international technology leader for reliable hybrid energy supplies in security, defense, industry and critical infrastructure, has raised its full-year earnings guidance for 2026 after preliminary figures showed strong sales growth and disproportionately higher profitability in the first nine months, the company announced through NEWMEDIAWIRE.
Group sales rose to EUR 132.8 million in the first nine months of 2026, up from EUR 102.7 million in the prior-year period. Adjusted EBITDA climbed to EUR 33.7 million from EUR 10.8 million, already close to the upper end of the previous full-year guidance of EUR 34.0 million after only nine months. Adjusted EBIT reached EUR 25.7 million, compared with EUR 5.0 million a year earlier, and has already exceeded the previous upper end of the full-year guidance of EUR 25.5 million.
The company attributed the earnings performance primarily to the significant expansion of its defense business, particularly in Ukraine, and the resulting improvement in product mix. A higher gross margin in the European business of the Clean Power Management segment, lower expenses to date for an ERP project and lower-than-expected logistics and handling costs for the Ukraine order also contributed positively. Part of the ERP expenses are now scheduled for the fourth quarter.
Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy AG, said the development underlines the scalability of the business model, with dynamic growth and an increasingly higher-margin product mix driving a disproportionate increase in operating earnings power. He noted that modern warfare generates fast-growing demand for electrical energy in the field, and that the company's fuel cell solutions guarantee reliable, mobile and virtually undetectable power supply, enabling longer mission durations, reduced logistics effort and enhanced safety for users.
Based on the preliminary figures, the Management Board raised its 2026 earnings guidance. SFC Energy now expects adjusted EBITDA of between EUR 36.0 million and EUR 38.0 million, compared with the previous range of EUR 31.5 million to EUR 34.0 million. Adjusted EBIT is now projected at EUR 25.5 million to EUR 27.5 million, up from the prior guidance of EUR 21.5 million to EUR 25.5 million. The sales guidance remains unchanged at EUR 166.0 million to EUR 175.0 million.
For the fourth quarter of 2026, the Management Board expects the product mix to once again be significantly shaped by civilian products following the timely delivery of the first Ukraine programme at the end of the third quarter, resulting in a relatively lower earnings contribution compared with the two preceding quarters. Higher expenses related to the ERP project are planned, particularly in the final quarter, partly due to timing shifts from the first nine months, as well as additional investments in the further expansion of business development activities in Ukraine.
The announcement matters for investors and the wider energy technology sector because it signals sustained demand for resilient, decentralized power solutions in defense and critical infrastructure, and shows how defense-related sales can lift profitability through product mix. SFC Energy, which is listed on the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the ticker F3C:DE and has been included in the SDAX index since 2022, also supplies high-precision power management solutions to semiconductor equipment, defense and life science industries. SFC Energy will publish its quarterly release for the period ended 30 September 2026 on 11 November 2026.
