Morph Brand, a Singapore-based cookware company, has launched Vera, a line of cookware featuring an engraved pure-titanium cooking surface instead of a traditional chemical non-stick coating. The line includes the Vera Pan, Vera Wok, and Vera Soup Pot, and is being introduced through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter that opened on 22 September 2026. The announcement was made via Media OutReach Newswire.
The development stems from founder Kenneth Li's personal experience with deteriorating non-stick pans. Concerned about where worn coating material ends up, Li sought a pan that remained non-stick without an applied layer. When no such product was available, he engineered one himself. "I wanted a pan with nothing to hide, where the non-stick comes from the shape of the surface itself, not something applied on top," said Li, whose product work has been recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization and featured by Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore.
The resulting technology, called AeroGrid, is a fine honeycomb texture machined directly into the titanium surface. According to Morph Brand, this texture reduces the contact area between food and the pan, allowing food to release with less oil. Each Vera product is constructed with a three-ply aluminium body and a pure titanium cooking surface. Because the non-stick property comes from the engraved texture rather than a coating, Morph Brand states that Vera is manufactured without intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, commonly known as Teflon), or perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA). This design eliminates the coating layer that can wear away over time in conventional non-stick pans.
The launch is timely, as regulators in several jurisdictions are moving to restrict PFAS in consumer products. In the United States, Minnesota's prohibition on intentionally added PFAS in various product categories, including cookware, took effect on January 1, 2025, and other states and regulators have advanced their own measures. Morph Brand positions Vera as an option for consumers seeking cookware made without added PFAS. The company also notes that the titanium cooking surface is non-reactive and that the three-ply aluminium body is designed to heat evenly and resist warping, though it cautions that non-stick performance and durability depend on proper use and care.
Vera is available to support through Morph Brand's Kickstarter campaign. Product specifications, pricing, and estimated delivery dates are listed on the campaign page. Morph Brand Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based product design studio founded by WIPO-recognised inventor Kenneth Li, with more than five Kickstarter campaigns across the US, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Singapore. The company designs in Singapore and ships worldwide. This launch could impact the cookware industry by offering a PFAS-free alternative, potentially appealing to health-conscious consumers and those in regions with increasing chemical regulations.
