Stonegate Capital Partners Initiates Coverage on HyOrc Corporation, Highlighting Green Methanol Potential

Stonegate Capital Partners has initiated coverage on HyOrc Corporation (OTCQB: HYOR), a company focused on converting refuse-derived fuel (RDF) into green methanol. In its research announcement, Stonegate outlined HyOrc's core technology, which involves turning prepared municipal and industrial waste into synthesis gas, cleaning and conditioning that gas, and then converting it into methanol through a catalytic synthesis process. The firm emphasized that the core equity story is less about broad clean-tech exposure and more about whether HyOrc can successfully transition from its pilot and equipment-delivery history into continuous commercial-scale methanol production.

HyOrc targets green methanol production at approximately €350 per tonne, compared to a conventional grey methanol benchmark of about €850 per tonne. However, Stonegate noted that the company must still prove these economics in continuous commercial operation. The first major milestone in this effort is the planned shipment of its fully funded initial 1 tonne per day (TPD) Porto methanol module in September 2026. This module is the first step toward an 8 TPD Portugal facility, which Stonegate views as the clearest near-term commercial validation once installed and operated.

Beyond methanol, HyOrc is developing external-combustion power systems for stationary generation and locomotive retrofits. The company has delivered two 500 kW turbine units and signed a memorandum of understanding with GB Railfreight. Stonegate noted that these provide early reference points, although both opportunities remain ahead of full commercial deployment.

The initiation of coverage by Stonegate Capital Partners brings additional visibility to HyOrc's technology and business model. Stonegate Capital Partners is a leading capital markets advisory firm providing investor relations, equity research, and institutional investor outreach services for public companies. Its affiliate, Stonegate Capital Markets (member FINRA), offers investment banking, equity research, and capital raising for public and private companies.

The implications of this announcement are significant for the clean-tech and waste-to-energy sectors. If HyOrc can achieve its target production costs, it could disrupt the conventional methanol market, which is currently dominated by higher-cost grey methanol derived from fossil fuels. Green methanol, produced from waste, offers a lower-carbon alternative that could help industries reduce their carbon footprint. For investors, the key question remains whether HyOrc can execute on its commercial-scale plans, with the Porto module shipment and subsequent Portugal facility serving as critical proof points.
