In her new book, My Story, God's Glory, author and high school science teacher Taylor Turner shares a testimony of faith that is not polished or perfect but real, tested, questioned, and ultimately transformed. The book, released by Clay Bridges Press, explores the idea that faith is not necessarily formed in comfort but often deepened through surrender and strengthened in the moments when life tests it most.
Turner writes for people who have wrestled with questions, experienced circumstances beyond their control, or wondered where God was in the middle of their story. "My faith was never perfect," Turner says. "It was questioned. It was stretched. At times, it felt fragile." Yet those difficult places became part of the very process through which her relationship with God grew.
The decision to write grew out of Turner's desire to share the Gospel in a way that felt authentic to the gifts God had given her. "We are here to spread the Good News of Jesus, and since public speaking is not my strong suit, I thought this is the next best thing," Turner says of becoming an author. Inspired by Jesus' call in Mark 16:15 to "go into all the world and proclaim the gospel," Turner sees writing as an extension of that calling. Her goal is not simply to tell readers what she has learned but to use her own testimony to point them toward Christ and encourage them to recognize God at work within their own stories.
Her journey to publication required the same kind of faith she writes about. Turner describes her greatest challenge as an author as "getting started and taking the leap of faith," and summarizes the writing experience in three words: "Stressful, joyful, worthwhile." That experience has also shaped her advice for others who sense they have a story to tell. "Just go for it," Turner says. "Don't be afraid of the what-ifs and do it."
A wife, mother of three, and high school science teacher with more than 12 years of experience, Turner lives in Midland, Texas, and serves at Hope Alive Church. Her passion extends beyond writing individual books to creating practical, faith-based resources that help families grow closer to Christ and to one another. She is also the author of From Manger to Messiah, a family Advent study created to help parents lead their children through Scripture and meaningful conversations about Jesus. Through her writing and her brand, I Noah Mom LLC, Turner develops Bible studies, books, journals, and other resources designed to help families make faith part of everyday life.
For Turner, that mission does not require families to create picture-perfect spiritual lives. Instead, she encourages parents to be intentional about bringing conversations about God into the ordinary rhythms of home and family. "I hope this brings families closer together and closer to loving Jesus," Turner says of what she ultimately wants readers to gain from her writing. When she is not writing, Turner says she can usually be found "at home with my family being silly or teaching at school."
My Story, God's Glory is ultimately an invitation for searching, struggling, and questioning readers to discover that imperfect faith does not disqualify them from experiencing a faithful God. It reminds readers that their current chapter is not the end of their story and that even when they cannot clearly see what God is doing, He has not stopped working. Because faith may be tested. It may be stretched. It may even feel weak. But God remains faithful.
