Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has announced the engagement of Dahrouge Geological Consulting to assist in the evaluation and future exploration of its past-producing tungsten assets across Nevada and New Mexico. Dahrouge, a North American mineral exploration, consulting, and project management group with offices in Edmonton, Montreal, and Denver, will support efforts from its Denver office, leveraging regional expertise in site-specific geology and resource evaluation.
Blake Morgan, CEO of Western Star Resources, stated that the company is thrilled to add Dahrouge to its existing geological team as they continue to advance their past-producing tungsten assets. Dahrouge has been reviewing and analyzing technical data at the past-producing Eagle Point Mine in New Mexico to define drill targets across known surface mineralization and consolidate data into a well-developed technical presentation and model. Working closely with Western Star's existing geological team, the intermediate goal is to develop a comprehensive program to drill the historical noncompliant resource, followed by a mineral resource estimate (MRE) after an initial maiden drill program in 2026.
Jacob Anderson, Certified Professional Geologist at Dahrouge Consulting, expressed excitement about working with Western Star's geological team to gain a better understanding of the geology and mineralization of the Eagle Point Mine. Dahrouge will work aggressively to advance understanding of the project's resource potential while helping to de-risk and expand the mineral resource.
The engagement of Dahrouge underscores Western Star's commitment to revitalizing North America's tungsten supply. Tungsten is a critical mineral essential for various industrial applications, including defense, aerospace, and electronics, and the U.S. relies heavily on imports. By advancing its past-producing assets in historically important mining districts, Western Star is positioning itself to participate in the growing need for secure domestic critical mineral supply. The company's focus on past-producing mines, such as the Eagle Point Mine, offers the potential for rapid resource delineation and development, which could significantly impact the domestic tungsten market.
Dahrouge provides professional geological, logistical, and project management services to the mining and mineral resource industry, including project generation, program design, geophysics, project evaluation, and geology and resource estimations. Their expertise will be crucial in defining drill targets and moving the project toward a compliant MRE.
The announcement follows Western Star's broader strategy to build a portfolio of tungsten assets in the U.S. The company's entry into the market aligns with government initiatives to secure critical mineral supply chains. With the technical support of Dahrouge, Western Star aims to accelerate exploration and potentially bring these assets closer to production, benefiting the industry and reducing reliance on foreign sources.
