Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ: WRAP) has been selected by WOFT Charities to provide training support for the WOFT Teacher Safety Training Program, which received a $475,000 appropriation in Florida’s fiscal year 2026-27 state budget. The program aims to equip teachers, administrators, and other school personnel with practical safety and preparedness skills, including situational awareness, threat recognition, early intervention, de-escalation, and avoiding physical confrontation when possible.
The training will include real-world scenarios and practical self-defense instruction, tailored to the unique challenges faced in educational settings. WOFT Charities received the appropriation, and WRAP will receive a portion based on services provided. This should not be interpreted as a direct $475,000 award or future revenue to WRAP, as the company clarified.
In addition to the training program, WRAP has exclusive access to WOFT’s training facility, which is being developed as a national flagship environment for integrated WRAP training. This partnership could serve as a model that expands beyond education into law enforcement, private security, military, and other professional safety environments, as well as private citizens. Eventually, the company envisions incorporating a digital training ecosystem that supports continuous learning, recurring proficiency, and certification.
The selection underscores the growing emphasis on school safety and the need for proactive measures to protect students and staff. With the rise in school-related incidents, teacher training programs that focus on de-escalation and non-lethal response are becoming increasingly important. WRAP’s involvement brings its expertise in public safety technologies and training to the educational sector, potentially setting a precedent for other states to follow.
Wrap Technologies is known for its BolaWrap 150 device, a non-lethal restraint tool that uses a multi-sensory distraction and a cord to temporarily restrain individuals without causing pain. The device is designed to create time and distance during non-criminal calls, reducing the risk of injury to officers, subjects, and the community. Used by over 1,000 agencies in the U.S. and in 60 countries, the BolaWrap is backed by training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
The company’s portfolio also includes Wrap Reality, an immersive VR training simulator for first responders, and WrapVision, a body-worn camera system. These technologies complement the training programs and could be integrated into the WOFT facility to enhance the learning experience.
This initiative is part of a broader trend of incorporating non-lethal tools and de-escalation techniques into safety protocols. By partnering with WOFT Charities, WRAP is positioning itself at the forefront of this movement, potentially expanding its market beyond traditional law enforcement. The success of this program could lead to similar partnerships in other states and sectors, driving growth for the company and improving safety outcomes in schools.
