Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ: WRAP) has issued a letter to stockholders detailing its strategic transformation from a single-product company into an integrated public safety technology platform. The company aims to leverage artificial intelligence, advanced sensing, autonomous decision support, and measured, non-lethal response across multiple sectors, including law enforcement, border security, critical infrastructure, transportation, and defense support.
Central to this strategy is the WrapShield platform, designed to integrate threat detection, classification, decision support, and proportionate response. The company highlighted several key milestones supporting this evolution. Notably, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) issued a favorable ruling classifying the BolaWrap 150 as an instrument of restraint rather than a firearm, a critical regulatory distinction that could broaden its adoption. Additionally, Wrap Technologies has invested in Frenel Imaging Ltd. and secured exclusive U.S. and NATO commercialization rights for Frenel's thermal-polarimetric sensing technology. This technology enhances threat detection capabilities, particularly in challenging environments.
Management also cited expanding customer adoption, growing international partnerships, increased bookings, and continued investments in technology as factors positioning the company for long-term growth. The BolaWrap 150, used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, is a non-lethal device that deploys a multi-sensory distraction of sight and sound, followed by a non-lethal restraint if needed. It is backed by training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
Wrap's public safety portfolio also includes the Wrap Reality immersive training platform, WrapVision body-worn camera system, WrapTactics training programs, and next-generation C-UAS solutions like PAN-DA and the 1KC Kinetic Anti-Drone Cassette. WrapVision, powered by IONODES, features streamlined cloud integration and a made-in-America roadmap projected for early 2026, addressing data integrity and security concerns.
The company's shift toward an integrated platform reflects growing demand for non-lethal tools and techniques that create time, distance, and tactical advantage in non-criminal calls. By expanding pre-escalation periods and offering proportionate response options, Wrap aims to reduce the risk of injury to officers, subjects, and the community. The strategic transformation underscores the importance of technology in modern public safety, with potential implications for law enforcement practices, regulatory classifications, and international security collaborations.
