The 16th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held on 16 and 17 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme “Driving Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability,” the event will bring together government and business leaders from logistics, shipping, aviation, supply chain management and related services to discuss supply chain resilience, green energy and digital transformation, as well as opportunities for high-quality development.
The conference agenda will align with the National 15th Five-Year Plan, the HKSAR Government’s first “Five-Year Plan for Hong Kong” and the latest Policy Address, aiming to enhance Hong Kong’s competitiveness and support sustained economic development while reinforcing its position as international trade and maritime centres and an aviation hub. Jacky Chung, Associate Executive Director of the HKTDC, said the event will feature around 80 distinguished speakers and is expected to attract more than 2,300 participants from over 40 countries and regions. He noted that amid geopolitical tensions, extreme weather and the accelerating transition to sustainable development, the HKTDC will continue to align with national and HKSAR Government policies, promote high-value-added supply chain services and green energy development, and leverage Hong Kong’s strengths in financial, technology, arbitration and mediation services. He also highlighted that Hong Kong’s port is upgrading from a “traditional major port” to a “value-added port,” accelerating digital, green and smart development, and strengthening cooperation with Greater Bay Area ports to become a key maritime hub connecting South China with South America.
John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, will deliver a special address on the second day, while Professor Frederick Ma, Chairman of the HKTDC, will give opening remarks on the first day. Jennifer Nordquist, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, will discuss supply chain resilience and how governments and businesses can collaborate to reduce uncertainties in global trade and supply chains.
The conference will explore three key areas: supply chain development, Silk Road Maritime and green energy. Speakers will include Steven Beck of the Asian Development Bank; Dr Yann Duval of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific; Emmanuelle Ganne of the WTO; Evan Xue of JD Group and JD Logistics; and William Lee of SF Supply Chain. A new thematic seminar on Silk Road Maritime will highlight the platform’s role in enhancing connectivity and supply chain stability, featuring Simon Bennett of the International Chamber of Shipping. On green energy, industry leaders such as Scott Childress of UPS, Tim Lederer of DHL Express, Sham Man Fai of The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited, and Junlin Yu of Rystad Energy will examine latest trends.
ALMAC will also host the LSCM Shipping Summit, the “Hong Kong’s NextGen Logistician Awards 2026” Presentation Ceremony and workshops on arbitration, mediation, artificial intelligence, green energy and youth empowerment. The exhibition will feature close to 100 exhibitors, including a new Green Energy Zone, with participants such as the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd and JD.com, alongside mainland organisations from Jiangsu, Qianhai, Nansha and Xi’an. Last year, ALMAC organised more than 400 business-matching sessions, and similar sessions will continue this year to foster regional partnerships.
The HKTDC, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub through international exhibitions, conferences and business missions, and provides market insights via trade publications, research reports and digital news channels.
