Mainly Mozart has selected internationally acclaimed pianist Anton Nel as its Artistic Partner for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, marking a significant milestone for both the artist and the organization. Nel, who first performed with the festival in 1989 as its inaugural featured outdoor stage soloist, will bring his extensive musical expertise to multiple performances and special events.
During the upcoming seasons, Nel will perform with the Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra at Baker-Baum Concert Hall in The Conrad. His performances will include diverse classical works, including Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons", Bach's Brandenburg Concertos, and a contemporary piece by Noah Bendix-Balgley.
In addition to orchestral performances, Nel will host exclusive pre-concert recitals featuring Mozart's chamber and solo piano masterworks. These intimate performances will showcase the depth and elegance of Mozart's compositions, offering audiences a nuanced exploration of classical music.
Nel brings significant musical credentials to the role, having won the 1987 Naumburg International Piano Competition and performed with prestigious orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra and Chicago Symphony.
