The collaboration between award-winning musician Tianyu Xue and the Flatland Low Brass Choir marks a significant cultural and musical exchange this summer. From June 16th to September 16th, 2025, Xue will lead a recording project titled 'Introduce Chinese Folk Song Through Arrangements for Trombone and Piano.' This project, targeting the International Trombone Festival and the Louisiana Music Educator Association, seeks to blend cultural traditions by presenting Chinese folk music in a new light through the versatile sounds of trombone and piano.
Additionally, the summer will feature performances by Xue with the Flatland Low Brass Choir in the 'Concert in the Park Series,' offering the public a chance to witness this unique musical fusion live. The initiative not only highlights the artistic prowess of Xue and the choir but also underscores the importance of cultural exchange in fostering global understanding and appreciation through music.
