UGI Utilities has announced plans to start significant system upgrades in Bethlehem on July 9, 2025, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring safe and reliable service for its customers. This project includes the replacement of a gas main, which will affect several streets in the area, namely West Graham Place between Brodhead Avenue and Vine Street, Vine Street between West Graham Place and West Morton Street, and Rink Street between Broadhead Avenue and Vine Street.
The construction, scheduled from 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday, will necessitate parking restrictions and may cause temporary interruptions to natural gas service. UGI will need access to properties to inspect and relight equipment affected by the upgrades. The underground work is anticipated to be completed by early August, with final paving and restoration to follow, though weather and working conditions could potentially delay the timeline.
