Dr. Erika Pritchett Joins KidzCare Pediatrics in Wilmington, Enhancing Diverse Healthcare Access

KidzCare Pediatrics announced that Dr. Erika Pritchett, an experienced board-eligible pediatrician, will join their Wilmington office beginning September 17th. Dr. Pritchett will provide patient care Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., expanding access to pediatric services in the region.

Dr. Pritchett brings extensive experience in both clinical pediatrics and global health leadership. She completed her pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, following her Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Most recently, she served as Chief Medical Officer for the Baret Scholars Program (International), where she managed global health risk systems and coordinated emergency protocols across six continents.

Her addition holds particular significance for Wilmington families seeking healthcare that reflects community diversity. As a Black physician, Dr. Pritchett's presence reinforces KidzCare's commitment to providing accessible, family-centered medicine where every family feels represented and supported. This appointment addresses the ongoing need for diverse healthcare providers who can better understand and serve multicultural patient populations.

Dr. Pritchett expressed her enthusiasm for returning to clinical practice, stating she greets every child and family with attentive care and provides evidence-based pediatric medicine from birth through young adulthood. Her clinical interests include supporting parents during the newborn period and guiding adolescents through emotional and behavioral changes, blending current research with compassionate family partnerships.

The Wilmington office, located at 1606 Wellington Ave, Suite F in the Wellington Pointe Health Village, continues serving New Hanover County and surrounding communities. As part of the US Pediatric Partners network, KidzCare Pediatrics operates twenty-seven locations throughout North Carolina, offering comprehensive services including wellness visits, immunizations, behavioral health consultations, and chronic condition management. The practice participates in the National Health Service Corps, ensuring no patient is denied care due to inability to pay.
