National Padel League Launches First Nationwide Amateur Team League in United States

The National Padel League has announced the creation of the USA National Team League, marking the first structured amateur padel team league with nationwide coverage in the United States. Endorsed by the U.S. Padel Association, this initiative will launch in Fall 2025 and expand competitive opportunities to 40 cities across six regions: Florida, Texas, Southeast, Southwest, Mid Atlantic, and Northwest.

The league is designed to bring amateur players of all skill levels together in a professional-style, team-based format where participants can represent their city in local, regional, and national competitions. This structured approach not only fosters competitive spirit but also aims to build lasting connections among players on and off the court, as highlighted by National Padel League Director Luis Fernando Ramirez Aristeguieta, who described it as a landmark moment for amateur padel in the country.

Eligibility for the league is open to amateur players aged 16 and above who hold an active USPA membership, with separate divisions for men and women. Teams are categorized using the World Padel Rating system, encompassing levels from Beginner to Advanced, and each roster can include 6 to 15 players. Free agents are also encouraged to register and will be placed on local teams, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation.

The competition format involves each match consisting of three doubles games, with teams advancing by winning two out of three. The pathway to the national title includes a City Stage in October 2025, where local play occurs at host clubs in the 40 participating cities. Winners then progress to Regional Championships in November 2025, coordinated by the NPL, and ultimately to the National Finals in February 2026 in Miami. Regional champions will receive media coverage and travel support for the finals, with national champions earning trophies, custom apparel, Delta travel vouchers, and official recognition in the league's history.

Bill Ullman, President of the USPA, emphasized that this league represents a significant step forward for amateur padel, offering players an exciting pathway from local clubs to national, team-oriented competition.
