DFW Car and Toy Museum to Host Second Annual Automotive Swap Meet in November 2025

The DFW Car and Toy Museum will host its second Car Swap Meet on November 14-15, 2025, providing automotive enthusiasts with an opportunity to explore a wide array of memorabilia, collectibles, and classic car parts. The event, organized by Fort Worth Car Storage, will run from 8 a.m. on Friday, November 14, until 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, at the museum's location at 2550 McMillan Parkway in Fort Worth, Texas.

Automotive swap meets evolved from traditional flea markets and gained prominence in the mid-20th century, particularly during the 1950s, as interest in post-World War II classic cars surged. Early events were often small and local, but large-scale gatherings in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Paramount, California, set the stage for modern swap meets that cater to collectors and restorers. Over recent years, these events have expanded significantly in size and quality, reflecting growing demand for vintage parts and services among car owners.

Attendees at the Fort Worth Car Storage Car Swap Meet can expect to find treasures, collectibles, and hard-to-find vintage car parts and accessories. The event will feature a variety of vendors offering items ranging from automotive components to clothing. For refreshments, an assortment of local food trucks will be on-site, providing a diverse selection of food, snacks, and beverages. Ron Sturgeon, founder and owner of the DFW Car and Toy Museum, emphasized the event's appeal, stating, "Whether you're looking to buy, sell, or simply admire, this event offers something for car lovers of all ages."

In addition to the swap meet, visitors are encouraged to explore the museum's collection, which includes more than 200 cars and 3,000 rare and collectible toys. The museum, formerly known as DFW Elite Toy Museum, was founded by Sturgeon in the 1980s and recently relocated to its current 150,000-square-foot facility. It offers free parking and admission, along with amenities such as climate-controlled car storage and rental space for corporate events. The facility is dog-friendly and encourages photography, operating from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
