ACT Insurance has launched two new annual insurance policies designed to address coverage gaps for creators whose businesses have historically fallen outside standard insurance options. The new offerings provide year-round protection for curated sellers and handmade beauty businesses, reflecting how these creative enterprises operate on a daily basis.
The Curated Sellers policy is available for businesses selling products made by others or items that are less than 80 percent handmade. This includes vintage resellers, boutique owners, and collectible sellers who face liability risks tied to product use or injury, even when they did not manufacture the items themselves. Pricing for this policy starts at $31.58 per month, providing accessible coverage for creators who have struggled to find appropriate protection.
Small-batch makers of soaps, candles, and cosmetic products can now access coverage through the Handmade Beauty policy. Even carefully-produced items can trigger allergic reactions or other claims related to customer use, creating significant risk for independent makers. Annual coverage for this policy is available for $515 per year, offering predictable protection that supports business stability.
"These businesses kept telling us the same thing: existing coverage options did not match what they sell or how often they sell it," said Daryle Stafford, founder and CEO of Veracity Insurance, the parent company of ACT Insurance. "We built these policies to reflect real creative businesses instead of forcing sellers into short-term or incomplete coverage."
The new offerings expand ACT's annual coverage lineup to support sellers who operate year-round, including those whose products fall outside traditional handmade definitions or event-based policies. This development addresses a significant market need, as many creators have previously had to rely on inadequate or mismatched insurance solutions.
"Creators should not have to adjust their business model to fit an insurance product," said JoAnne Hammer, Certified Insurance Counselor and Program Manager at ACT Insurance. "These policies give sellers a clearer path to coverage that matches their work and supports steady growth."
ACT Insurance is part of the Insurance Canopy family of specialty insurance programs, which provide coverage for small businesses, creatives, and event-based sellers. The brands focus on straightforward policies built around how independent businesses operate, with clear pricing and fast access to coverage.
Both policies are available now through ACT Insurance's online checkout process. To learn more, visit actinsurance.com. The introduction of these specialized policies represents a significant step toward more inclusive insurance options for the creative economy, potentially reducing barriers to entry and growth for thousands of small businesses that have previously operated without adequate protection.
