2G Energy AG Announces Management Board Transition: CFO Friedrich Pehle to Focus on Investor Relations, Martin Laux Appointed as Successor

2G Energy AG, a leading manufacturer of sustainable power plants and combined heat and power (CHP) systems, has announced a long-planned change to its Management Board. Effective 1 November 2026, Martin Laux has been appointed to the Management Board as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), while long-serving CFO Friedrich Pehle will step down from the Management Board on 1 January 2027 to focus exclusively on Investor Relations, reporting to the new CFO. The announcement was made via NEWMEDIAWIRE.

The transition follows Mr. Pehle's personal request to terminate his term early, which was originally set to run until 31 December 2027. The Supervisory Board agreed and initiated a succession process. To ensure a smooth handover, the Management Board was temporarily expanded to four members until the end of 2026. Christian Grotholt, Supervisory Board member and founder of 2G Energy AG, praised Mr. Pehle's nine-year tenure as CFO, citing his sound judgement and strategic foresight that provided reliable guidance to the company, employees, and investors. Mr. Pehle expressed gratitude for his years as CFO and emphasized that the company's compelling investment story must now be positioned on international capital markets.

Martin Laux brings extensive experience in value-based corporate management, controlling, M&A integration, and efficiency enhancement at global industrial engineering companies. Most recently, he served as CFO of the Engines business unit at DEUTZ AG, overseeing a business with revenue of approximately EUR 1.5 billion. Prior to that, he held various international management positions within the DEUTZ Group, implementing performance management tools and efficiency programs. He began his career at BMW Group after graduating in industrial engineering. CEO Pablo Hofelich welcomed Mr. Laux, noting his expertise in guiding complex industrial companies through internationalization and organizational scaling will strengthen 2G's financial capabilities.

This management change is significant as 2G Energy AG aims to continue its profitable growth strategy, expand its international presence, and establish the organizational and capital-markets framework required to support revenue in excess of EUR 1 billion. The company, founded in 1995, employs over 1,000 people and generated net sales of EUR 398.4 million in the 2025 financial year. With more than 10,000 systems installed worldwide in over 60 countries, 2G is positioned at the interface of a decentralized, secure, and largely decarbonized energy supply. The appointment of Mr. Laux underscores 2G's commitment to scaling its operations and capitalizing on the growing market for sustainable energy solutions.

Investors and industry observers will be watching how Mr. Laux's background in efficiency enhancement and international management translates into 2G's next phase of growth. The company's focus on CHP plants, large heat pumps, and peak-load gensets aligns with the global energy transition, and the strengthened financial leadership is expected to support further market penetration.
