Ali Zokaee Expands Indigo Book Tour with 39 Confirmed Signings in 2026, Strong Sell-Through Rates

Author Ali Zokaee is making a significant impact across Indigo bookstores in the Greater Toronto Area, with 39 confirmed book signing events scheduled from April through October 2026. The tour, which began April 4 at Indigo Eaton Centre, has already generated notable reader interest, with stores selling an average of more than 85 percent of the copies ordered for each of the first 16 events for which sales results were reported. Seven appearances reached 100 percent sell-through.

One of the tour's strongest results came during Zokaee's July 25 appearance at Indigo Yonge & Eglinton in Toronto, where every available copy of Useful Quotes: True, Practical But Not Pleasing sold out in less than four and a half hours. The success of these appearances has encouraged Zokaee to continue returning to Indigo stores throughout 2026, including locations where he is introducing his second book, The History Of Music And Cinema: Evaluation Part 1, as well as events featuring both titles.

For Zokaee, the tour has become more than a series of signing events. Each appearance gives him an opportunity to meet readers personally, introduce his work to new communities, and steadily grow the audience surrounding his books. The remaining confirmed 2026 schedule includes appearances at Indigo locations across the Greater Toronto Area, including Mount Sinai Hospital, Bay & Bloor, TD Center, Hillcrest Mall, Scarborough Town Center, Upper Canada Mall, Well, Markville, Sherway Gardens, Pickering Town Center, Erin Mills Town Center, Oshawa Center, Burlington Brant St., Yonge & Eglinton, Yonge Center, Vega, Milton, Oakville, Yorkdale, Square One, Fairview, and Burlington Mapleview. The schedule also includes an August 29 appearance at Coles Beaches.

Zokaee expects to add several more appearances before year-end, bringing his 2026 total to approximately 40 bookstore events. He also plans to continue the momentum in 2027 with additional appearances featuring both books and events showcasing both titles. Beyond Canada, Zokaee has begun reaching out to Barnes & Noble locations in the United States as part of a longer-term effort to expand his in-person bookstore presence.

The success of this tour underscores the growing interest in Zokaee's work. His books, Useful Quotes: True, Practical But Not Pleasing and The History Of Music And Cinema: Evaluation Part 1, are available through major booksellers, including Indigo, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Waterstones. The strong sell-through rates and sold-out events indicate a dedicated readership and a successful model for author appearances in brick-and-mortar stores.

This tour is significant not only for Zokaee's career but also for the broader publishing industry, as it demonstrates the continued importance of in-person events for driving book sales and building author-reader connections. The high demand for his appearances suggests that readers value the opportunity to meet authors and engage with their work in person, a trend that could influence how other authors and publishers plan their promotional activities.
