Alward Fisher, a Traverse City-based law firm with 14 attorneys and more than 100 years of combined legal experience, has announced the addition of Lauren E. Trible-Laucht as its newest attorney. Trible-Laucht joins the firm after serving 15 years as the City Attorney for the City of Traverse City, bringing a wealth of public-sector legal experience to private practice.
Trible-Laucht's legal career began after earning a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Kalamazoo College in 2002. She then studied law, constitutional law, and German at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, Germany, as a Kalamazoo College Fellow. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 2008 after serving as a judicial intern to U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen in the Eastern District of Michigan. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan that same year.
Following law school, Trible-Laucht was an associate attorney with Jon H. Kingsepp PLLC, where she served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Clawson. In that role, she represented municipal and private clients in litigation, contract negotiations, and labor matters. From 2011 to 2026, she served as City Attorney for the City of Traverse City, acting as the City's in-house general counsel. Her responsibilities included advising municipal departments, City officials, and the City commission on a broad range of operational, governmental, and legal matters, encompassing property transactions, development agreements, ordinance drafting and enforcement, labor and employment matters, municipal governance, zoning and land use, contracts, and litigation.
The move signals a significant expansion of Alward Fisher's capabilities in municipal law and litigation, areas that are increasingly relevant to Northern Michigan businesses and individuals navigating regulatory and development issues. Alward Fisher Managing Partner Edward Price praised Trible-Laucht's credentials and commitment to the community. "Lauren is an incredible addition to the team," he said. "We admire her sharp legal experience, as well as her devotion to the Traverse City community. At Alward Fisher, our mission is to provide peace of mind to our clients, whether they're struggling with a divorce, a business dispute, financial trouble, estate planning, or criminal law matters. We believe Lauren is the perfect attorney to further that mission."
Trible-Laucht expressed enthusiasm about the transition. "I'm very proud to join Alward Fisher," she said. "I have spent the last 15 years assisting the Traverse City community address some very big issues. I'm looking forward to putting my skills to work for clients in Northern Michigan in a whole new capacity."
