Autonomic AI, LLC has announced AssuredCode-C, a high-assurance software synthesis engine designed for mission-critical military platforms, hypersonic vehicles, and autonomous defense hardware. The platform also has applications in the private sector. Unlike general-purpose Large Language Models (LLMs), AssuredCode-C focuses on meeting stringent military-grade safety, security, and execution requirements.

The AssuredCode-C process restricts code generation to strictly governed, MISRA-compliant bare-metal C, removing support for non-essential languages to achieve maximum optimization, memory safety, and determinism on air-gapped embedded platforms. Engineers develop templates offline, which are then populated into specifications and submitted to AssuredCode-C. These templates undergo exhaustive testing and simulation, which is crucial for safety.

The platform sets new benchmarks for edge execution in contested environments. Synthesis speed per code block is under 0.5 milliseconds, enabling dynamic, real-time code generation at the sensor edge. Average energy consumption is about 2 Joules per passing module, roughly 1/100th of traditional LLM inference pipelines. This allows mission-critical systems to generate verified updates on power-constrained batteries, micro-UAVs, and tactical hardware.

To guarantee zero platform downtime and eliminate catastrophic flight-controller failures, AssuredCode-C pairs ultra-fast generation with a certified Blue-Green runtime pipeline. In-flight data streaming splits live sensor frames across two isolated processing partitions: Blue (authoritative, driving physical actuators) and Green (shadow, running newly synthesized modules with outputs monitored but not actuated). Green outputs are routed through automated comparison engines and safety gates, with Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) interjection for tactical and strategic missions. Upon passing safety checks, authority transfers atomically to the Green partition with zero interruption. The former Blue partition then becomes the Green shadow, providing instant version failover in case of environmental anomalies.
