Los Angeles cosmetic dentist Dr. Arthur A. Kezian has announced the relaunch of his annual science scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year. This marks the 11th consecutive year that Dr. Kezian has funded the program, which provides $1,200 to one eligible student to help offset educational expenses. The previous scholarship cycle, awarded earlier this year, recognized a single winner from a pool of applicants. Details about that recipient are available through the 2026 scholarship winner announcement.
The scholarship is open to high school seniors through fourth-year undergraduates, with applicants required to be between the ages of 16 and 28 and majoring in a field of science. Selection is based on academic merit, community service, and financial need. Applications will open on November 1, 2026, and must be submitted by March 31, 2027. The winner will be announced by September 2027.
In a statement, Dr. Kezian expressed appreciation for past participants: "I'm so proud of all the applicants that applied to our scholarship. All the students were hard working, dedicated, and deserving of the award; but, like many other programs, there had to be one winner. I want to thank each and every one of the applicants and applaud them for their achievements. I decided to start the scholarship again this year to give another student the chance to win. Rewarding students who have significant individual accomplishments can help them reach their objectives and strive for higher education."
The announcement carries significance for students pursuing science degrees, who often face rising tuition costs and limited funding opportunities. By maintaining the scholarship for over a decade, Dr. Kezian provides a recurring source of support that can reduce financial barriers and encourage academic persistence. The emphasis on community service also signals that the program values well-rounded candidates, potentially motivating applicants to engage in volunteer work alongside their studies.
