Charles R. Ullman & Associates has added family law attorney Kevin F. Sullivan Jr. to its Raleigh, North Carolina, practice, the firm announced. Sullivan will support clients in Raleigh, Cary, and throughout Wake County, bringing litigation experience in divorce, child custody, and other family law matters.
The hire matters because family law outcomes often hinge on how well an attorney performs in the courtroom, not only in negotiation. Before joining the firm, Sullivan lived in Anchorage, Alaska, where he practiced with North Star Law Group, LLC. There he advocated for clients in evidentiary hearings, depositions, trials, and mediations, experience the firm says helps him build and execute legal strategies tailored to each client's goals.
His advocacy work in Alaska drew outside recognition. The Alaska Bar Association named him its 2025 Pro Bono Champion, and the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault recognized him as its December 2025 Volunteer of the Month. Those honors point to a record of service beyond billable work, a signal that may matter to clients navigating sensitive disputes involving separation, domestic abuse, and custody.
Founding Attorney Charles R. Ullman framed the addition as a gain for the firm's clients. "We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to our team," Ullman said. "His strategic insight, creative approach, and unwavering dedication to serving the community will be invaluable assets as we continue to advocate for our clients and seek favorable resolutions on their behalf."
Sullivan holds memberships in the North Carolina Bar Association, the Alaska Bar Association, the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts: Boston, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Outside work, he enjoys watching baseball, learning about history, and exploring unique places.
For Wake County families, the announcement suggests broader access to courtroom-tested representation at a firm that handles separation, divorce, domestic abuse, child custody and support, property division, and spousal support. Charles R. Ullman & Associates said it looks forward to enhancing its capacity to provide client-focused legal representation and guide families through challenging life transitions, a stated goal that will be tested as Sullivan takes on cases in one of North Carolina's busiest family law markets.
