FingerMotion Inc. (NASDAQ: FNGR) has announced an agreement to acquire a 9.9% stake in Lyken AI Computing Inc., operating as Lyken.AI, from Alset AI Ventures (TSXV: GPUS; OTCQB: GPUSF; FSE: 1R60) for $500,000 in FingerMotion common stock. The transaction, which is subject to TSXV approval on behalf of Alset AI, marks FingerMotion’s entry into the enterprise computing market and the first step in a broader strategy to build a recurring-revenue enterprise compute business alongside its mobile data and telecommunications operations.
No cash consideration is payable at closing, and Alset AI is expected to retain a 90.1% interest in Lyken. FingerMotion said it intends to build an enterprise offering encompassing GPU and cloud compute capacity, secure storage, private low-latency networking and deployment support, leveraging Lyken’s previously disclosed ecosystem that includes NVIDIA, Dell Technologies Canada and established data-center providers.
The company plans to pursue enterprise compute as a distinct scalable business and may seek to increase its participation in Lyken and its underlying infrastructure over time, subject to commercial performance, capital availability and applicable regulatory and exchange requirements.
This strategic move positions FingerMotion to diversify beyond its core mobile payment and recharge platform solutions in China. By entering the enterprise computing sector, the company aims to capitalize on the growing demand for GPU and cloud infrastructure, which is being driven by advancements in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and other compute-intensive applications. The acquisition provides FingerMotion with a foothold in a market that is expected to see substantial growth in the coming years, as businesses increasingly migrate to cloud-based solutions and require robust computing capabilities.
For Alset AI, the sale of a minority stake in Lyken allows it to monetize a portion of its investment while retaining majority control. The deal also strengthens the relationship between FingerMotion and Alset AI, potentially opening up future collaboration opportunities.
The enterprise computing market is highly competitive, with major players like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud dominating the space. However, FingerMotion’s strategy to focus on secure storage, private low-latency networking, and deployment support could differentiate its offerings, particularly for businesses with specific compliance or performance requirements. Additionally, the involvement of established partners like NVIDIA and Dell Technologies Canada lends credibility to Lyken’s ecosystem and could facilitate access to cutting-edge technology and infrastructure.
FingerMotion’s move into enterprise computing is a significant strategic pivot for the company, which has primarily focused on consumer-facing mobile services. The company’s long-term vision includes serving over 1 billion users in the China market and expanding to other regional markets. By diversifying into B2B services, FingerMotion can leverage its existing technological expertise and infrastructure to tap into a new revenue stream that could provide more stable and predictable income.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval, and the finalization of the deal is expected to occur in the coming months. If successful, this acquisition could serve as a catalyst for FingerMotion’s growth and open up new opportunities in the rapidly evolving enterprise technology landscape.
