Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) has released results from 15 diamond drill holes at the Tenorita area of the Buen Retiro Copper Project near Copiapo, Chile, revealing wide intervals of copper mineralization in leachable material close to surface. The company is operating four drill rigs on site and aims to complete the drill-out of the Tenorita area by August 2026, targeting production in early 2028.
Highlights include drill hole BRT-DDH072, which returned 111.9 metres grading 0.97% copper from 21.1 metres depth, including 18.0 metres at 1.59% copper from 84 metres. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 returned 147.7 metres at 0.41% copper from 26.3 metres, including 47.0 metres at 0.88% copper from 113 metres. These results confirm consistent shallow mineralization across approximately 300 metres in the widest part of the Tenorita area, according to Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy.
The company has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 metres since February 2026. The ongoing drilling program has three key objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for a Pre-Feasibility Study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets. Fitzroy plans to complete an additional 9,000 metres of drilling in 2026.
The Tenorita area, a 1.7 km trend of copper mineralization southwest of the historical Manto Negro open pit, has been the focus of the current drilling. Previous drilling in the same area, such as drill hole 27, intersected 133 metres at 0.46% copper from 22 metres, and drill hole 58 returned 75.0 metres at 0.82% copper from 9.0 metres. These results, combined with the latest assays, support the potential for a robust mine-life.
Fitzroy is also drilling at the Ortuzar area (shallow sulphides north of Manto Negro), the Nativo area (southern extension of Manto Negro), and regional exploration targets using a reverse circulation rig. The company’s quality assurance and quality control procedures include insertion of blanks, standards, and pulp duplicates representing about 12% of total primary core samples. Samples are processed at ALS-Patagonia laboratory in Copiapo, with no significant QA/QC issues identified.
