George Salinas Injury Lawyers raised $7,000 for Kinetic Kids during a San Antonio Missions baseball game on May 16, when firm founder George Salinas threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. The funds, generated through an auction of special-edition player jerseys, will support the San Antonio nonprofit's adaptive sports and fine arts programs for children with special needs.
The evening pitted the Missions against the Wichita Wind Surge and featured a "Sandlot"-themed promotion honoring the classic baseball film. Missions players wore special "Sandlot" jerseys during the game, and those jerseys were later auctioned to benefit Kinetic Kids. The auction drew a strong crowd and raised $7,000 for the organization.
George Salinas Injury Lawyers is a partner and supporter of the San Antonio Missions and maintains outfield signage at the stadium. Salinas, who is chief executive officer and founder of the firm, is also a long-time supporter and board member of Kinetic Kids. Members of the firm's staff attended the game, joining families and children connected to the nonprofit on the field and in the stands. The night closed with a fireworks display.
"Kinetic Kids opens doors for children who are too often left on the sidelines, and being part of that work means a great deal to me," said George Salinas, chief executive officer and founder of George Salinas Injury Lawyers. "Throwing the first pitch was a privilege, but the real win was seeing these families come together for a night they will remember."
Kinetic Kids serves children with special needs across the San Antonio area through programs designed to make athletics and the arts accessible. The May 16 auction adds to the organization's funding for those activities, which range from adaptive team sports to creative arts instruction.
The firm plans to formally deliver the funds during a ceremonial check presentation on Saturday, Aug. 8, when the Missions host the Springfield Cardinals. The presentation will mark the conclusion of the May 16 fundraising effort.
The event is part of the firm's broader community involvement in San Antonio.
