Stonegate Capital Partners has updated its coverage on Heliostar Metals Ltd (TSXV: HSTR), noting that the company's second-quarter results improved its forward outlook by strengthening the operating cash-flow bridge to the Ana Paula project and clarifying the earnings capacity of its producing assets. The update comes as Heliostar reported record gold production and a record cash balance, despite a sequential decline in net income attributed to non-operational factors.
During the quarter, Heliostar achieved a 26% quarter-over-quarter increase in gold production to a record 14,803 ounces. Revenue reached $56.5 million, with mine operating earnings of $31.1 million. Cash balances increased to $43.0 million, even after accounting for the initial $10 million payment related to the Goldstrike acquisition. The company's San Agustin mine reached steady-state production, while La Colorada continued to generate strong cash flows, collectively supporting the company's development pipeline.
Ana Paula remains the principal step-change growth project for Heliostar. The feasibility study for the project is targeted for the second quarter of 2027, with an underground permit submission expected in the third quarter of 2026. First gold production from Ana Paula is targeted before the end of 2028. The Expansion Zone at Ana Paula presents potential upside beyond the current development case, though permitting and project financing remain key execution variables.
The Goldstrike acquisition adds 1.065 million ounces of attributable gold resources, along with emerging antimony optionality. Surface work at Goldstrike has confirmed mineralization at Antimony Ridge and identified a new target, Antimony Knoll, located 1.7 kilometers west. An initial drilling program of approximately 1,500 meters is underway, with results expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Goldstrike broadens Heliostar's longer-term pipeline, although the remaining staged purchase consideration should be reflected consistently in valuation assessments.
Near-mine reserve growth is expected to improve visibility beyond 2026. Key markers for the company include reserve conversion, execution of the Veta Madre vein system, and Ana Paula permitting. The quarterly net income decline was attributed to the annual option grant, higher taxes, and foreign exchange effects, rather than weaker mine performance.
The update from Stonegate highlights Heliostar's progress in balancing current production strength with future growth initiatives. The company's ability to generate record cash flows while advancing its development projects positions it to potentially deliver significant value to shareholders. Investors and industry observers will be watching for the upcoming feasibility study on Ana Paula and the results from the Goldstrike drilling program, which could provide further clarity on the company's growth trajectory.
