The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is set to host four major technology fairs in October, expecting to draw some 6,200 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions. The events, announced at a press conference, will showcase cutting-edge technologies across electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and smart lighting. According to the NEWMEDIAWIRE release, the fairs aim to highlight global trends in industrial upgrading and digital transformation.
The 46th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 29th electronicAsia will run concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from 13 to 16 October. The 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will take place at AsiaWorld-Expo from 26 to 29 October, while the 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) will be held at the HKCEC from 27 to 30 October. These events are expected to reinforce Hong Kong's position as an international trade and innovation hub.
A key highlight is the new Future Industries Zone at the Electronics Fair, supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the HKSAR Government and jointly organised with the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association. The zone will focus on five themes: Future Computing, Future Manufacturing, Future Marine & Quantum Technologies, Future Microelectronics, and Future Wellness. More than 100 exhibitors, including industry leaders like Lenovo, AV Concept, and GP Energy Tech, will present cutting-edge solutions. The fair will also feature over 120 robots, demonstrating applications in commercial services, industrial logistics, entertainment, and healthcare. Notable participants include AgiBot, the world's leading humanoid robot manufacturer by shipment volume in the first half of 2026, and UBTECH, which will present the world's first next-generation full-sized humanoid robot for urban coexistence.
In addition, the HKTDC is introducing a GoGlobal Connect Zone to help Chinese Mainland enterprises expand internationally through Hong Kong's professional services. This aligns with the HKSAR Government's efforts to support mainland companies going global. The fair will also host forums on scaling smart consumer innovations, featuring representatives from the Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation, TechNode, and Hang Seng Bank, covering market entry, financing, and risk management.
The twin lighting fairs, under the theme "Beyond Illumination," will bring together around 3,000 exhibitors from over 20 countries and regions. They will spotlight smart lighting, sustainability, and design aesthetics. The Hall of Connected Lighting will feature over 60 leading brands, including Signify, which will collaborate with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team to offer a racing simulator experience. A new LED Display Solution Zone will showcase advanced display technologies, with first-time exhibitor Ledman Hong Kong presenting its QS Series IceScreen LED Display, deployed at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
The fairs will adopt the HKTDC's EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, combining physical and online participation. The online exhibition for the Electronics Fair and electronicAsia will run from 6 to 23 October, while the lighting fairs' online exhibitions will be available from 19 October to 6 November. This hybrid approach allows businesses to extend sourcing and networking beyond the physical fair dates, enhancing global trade opportunities. The HKTDC, celebrating its 60th anniversary, continues to promote Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub through international exhibitions and conferences. These fairs are poised to drive innovation and economic growth, offering a platform for companies to connect with funding, talent, and international markets.
