Jenner Law has announced Bella Ramirez as one of its 2026 Make a Difference Scholarship winners. Ramirez is in her first year at Cardozo School of Law in New York City. Originally from South Florida, she graduated cum laude from Boston University in 2025.
Ramirez's work in community-based advocacy began in her teen years. During her freshman year of high school, a neighboring school was struck by tragedy when a shooting left 17 people dead. Ramirez organized a county-wide rally and helped register hundreds of voters. Her early commitment to civic engagement and social change has continued through her academic and professional pursuits.
Initially, Ramirez pursued a career in journalism. As an intern in the Investigations Department of NBC News, she helped uncover federal student aid fraud. However, she decided to shift to law school when she realized she wanted to more actively fight for positive change. That decision has led her to Cardozo, where she is already deeply involved in campus and community life.
At Cardozo, Ramirez participates in the Gates Scholar Program for first-generation students and the Public Service Scholars Program. She is a member of the American Constitution Society and the Public Interest Law Students Association, serves as a 1L representative for the Latin American Law Students Association, and is a senator on the Student Bar Association. In addition, she is in training with the Unemployment Action Center, which helps unemployed individuals secure the benefits they need.
The Make a Difference Scholarship is awarded to academically excelling students who are also focused on making a real difference in their communities and the world. Jenner Law believes strongly in the power of positive action, and Ramirez exemplifies the scholarship's mission through her extensive advocacy work and public service. The firm's recognition of Ramirez highlights its commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders who prioritize community impact.
Jenner Law has been helping injury victims and their families since 2017, recovering millions for clients to cover medical expenses and other losses.
