LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. has announced assay results from drill holes LBX26-109 and LBX26-110, part of its 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results, released via NEWMEDIAWIRE, highlight multiple gold and polymetallic intercepts that could significantly enhance the project's geological understanding and move it closer to a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
Drill hole LBX26-110 returned notable intervals, including 4.55 meters grading 0.063 g/t gold, 12.29 g/t silver, 0.76% copper and 0.16% zinc from 80.45 meters to 85.00 meters, which includes a higher-grade sub-interval of 1.70 meters at 0.138 g/t gold, 24.45 g/t silver, 1.56% copper and 0.31% zinc. The hole also intersected 9.90 meters grading 0.563 g/t gold from 205.70 meters to 215.60 meters, including 2.30 meters at 1.693 g/t gold, and a separate 3.70-meter interval grading 0.246 g/t gold, 8.04 g/t silver, 0.60% copper and 1.08% zinc from 184.20 meters to 187.90 meters, which includes 1.00 meter at 0.427 g/t gold, 17.15 g/t silver, 1.18% copper and 3.63% zinc. These deeper intervals were unexpected and provide new geological information for potential follow-up evaluation. For detailed assay summaries, see the LBX26-109 Assay Summary and LBX26-110 Assay Summary.
The 2026 Phase 1 drill program is designed to systematically advance the A-Zone, which may support the evaluation of a potential maiden MRE. LBX26-109 and LBX26-110 tested targets associated with the River Shear, historical gold intercepts and modelled mineralized horizons, providing additional data from underexplored areas. LBX26-109 tested an isolated chargeability anomaly in the footwall of the River Shear and along strike from historic high-grade intercepts, while LBX26-110 was drilled as a step-back from historic hole K-45 to test the River Shear and a mineralized horizon, also encountering a 6.00-meter gold-bearing interval near the pluton contact.
Building on these results, LAURION has increased its planned Phase 1 drilling from 3,865 meters to 5,605 meters across 22 drill holes. This expansion is informed by SRK Consulting's independent structural gap analysis of the A-Zone, which identified five priority target areas to address key gaps in the existing drill database. The company is using this framework to prioritize near-term drilling as it advances the A-Zone toward a potential maiden MRE. Specific targets and timing remain subject to ongoing results and available financing.
The technical contents of the release were reviewed and approved by Dr. Trevor Boyd, Ph.D., P.Geo., a Qualified Person under NI 43-101. Sampling and QA/QC protocols include industry-standard external standards, blanks and duplicates, with all core samples processed by ALS facilities in Thunder Bay and North Vancouver. QA/QC results were verified with no contamination or bias observed.
LAURION is a mid-stage Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the 57-square-kilometer Ishkōday Project within the Beardmore-Geraldton and Onaman-Tashota Greenstone Belts. The project hosts a 6.0 km by 2.5 km mineralized corridor, and over 98,000 meters of drilling have confirmed a large gold-rich base metal system. The company's strategy emphasizes disciplined exploration, integrated geological modelling and responsible capital allocation. For more information, visit http://www.LAURION.ca.
These results matter because they could lead to a maiden MRE, which would provide a formal estimate of the project's mineral resources and potentially attract further investment. The unexpected deeper gold intervals also open new exploration targets, suggesting the mineralized system may be larger than previously thought. For the mining industry, this underscores the continued potential of the Beardmore-Geraldton greenstone belt. Readers should note that forward-looking statements involve risks, and historical information may not be reliable.
