LION Smart Production GmbH, part of LION E-Mobility AG, has secured three additional projects for stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Germany, each with a capacity of 10 MWh, for a total of 30 MWh. The projects were awarded in the third quarter of 2026 and are scheduled for completion and grid connection in the first quarter of 2027. The wins build on the company's previous success in the stationary energy storage sector and underscore the diverse applications of battery storage in supporting renewable energy integration.
The three projects represent distinct application concepts. One system will be co-located with an existing photovoltaic (PV) plant, while another combines storage with a new PV installation. The third is a standalone storage project. These configurations highlight the flexibility of BESS in both hybrid and independent roles, addressing grid stability, renewable energy optimization, and peak demand management.
