LiverRight and Aegle Medical Solutions, LLC have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding access to non-invasive liver assessment, specialist interpretation, diagnosis, and ongoing liver care for patients throughout the United States. The collaboration brings together Aegle Medical's advanced liver assessment technology and implementation support with LiverRight's national virtual liver clinic, creating a more connected pathway for healthcare organizations to move patients efficiently from liver disease identification to specialist interpretation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management.
For physicians, health systems, and independent practices, the partnership is designed to simplify the establishment or expansion of comprehensive liver disease programs without the need to build every component internally. Aegle Medical offers a consultative approach to technology evaluation, implementation, training, and ongoing support, while LiverRight provides same-day interpretation services for liver elastography studies and same-week virtual access to its hepatology clinicians. LiverRight's Liververse™ referral system coordinates bloodwork, patient-reported outcomes, available imaging, diagnosis, and longitudinal disease management, further streamlining the care pathway.
The partnership also aims to bring advanced liver assessment closer to the communities where patients already receive care, improving access to liver specialists. "Aegle Medical Solutions is helping hospital systems and independent practices nationwide address the significant number of adults living with undiagnosed liver disease in the United States," said Brandon Tudor, CEO of LiverRight. "By working together, we help practices bring advanced liver assessment into the outpatient setting, provide timely specialist interpretation, and move patients into the appropriate diagnostic and care workflow with greater efficiency."
Central to the collaboration is Aegle Medical's distribution of the Mindray Hepatus-Series Transient Elastography Diagnostic Ultrasound Systems, which introduce Visualized Transient Elastography (ViTE). This next-generation technology integrates real-time B-mode ultrasound visualization directly into the elastography examination, allowing operators to see liver anatomy, identify optimal measurement locations, and visually guide each acquisition while obtaining quantitative liver stiffness and attenuation measurements. Unlike legacy platforms that may require different probes based on patient body habitus, the Hepatus platform is designed to streamline the examination with a more efficient, B-mode image-guided workflow. The system provides liver stiffness measurement (LSM) for fibrosis assessment and Liver UltraSound Attenuation (LiSA) for quantitative assessment of hepatic steatosis. The Hepatus 6 further expands capabilities by combining these features with diagnostic ultrasound imaging, enabling abdominal imaging, Doppler, spleen stiffness assessment, and intestinal ultrasound depending on configuration.
"This strategic partnership with LiverRight represents an important step forward in our shared vision of expanding access to liver disease detection and care within the communities we serve," said Michael McTighe, President & CEO of Aegle Medical Solutions. "By connecting those capabilities with LiverRight's nationwide virtual liver-care network and same-day interpretation services, we can provide our customers with more than technology—we can help them establish a more complete pathway from assessment to diagnosis and ongoing patient management." McTighe continued, "We believe this model can be particularly valuable for communities where access to hepatology specialists may be limited. Our goal is to help providers identify liver disease earlier, improve access to specialist expertise and ultimately create a better experience for both patients and clinicians."
LiverRight has its own hepatologists and hepatology advanced practice providers licensed across all 50 U.S. states, supporting adult patients with liver conditions including MASLD/MASH, alcohol-associated liver disease, hepatitis B and C, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, autoimmune hepatitis, and liver cancer diagnosis. The partnership gives health systems, GI and hepatology practices, and independent providers a scalable approach to expanding liver services under their own brand, combining advanced non-invasive liver assessment technology, implementation and clinical support, timely specialist interpretation, and a pathway to continued liver care.
