Scarefest Scream Park Marks 20th Anniversary with Expanded Season and Special Events

Scarefest Scream Park, a family-owned 50-acre Halloween destination in Lenox Township, Michigan, is celebrating its 20th anniversary season. Founded in 2006, the park has become a staple of Macomb County's autumn landscape, providing seasonal employment to hundreds of local residents and supporting local charitable organizations. This milestone year brings a blend of fear and fun, with nightly stage entertainment, Halloween movies, roaming ghouls, photo ops, bonfires, and a heated bar tent, all while a virtual queue system lets guests avoid waiting in line.

The park features four unique attractions, each designed to cater to different thrill levels. Castle of the Dead is an 8,000-square-foot haunted house where guests confront terrors just beyond the doors. Hayride of Doom offers a family-friendly, narrated ride following a researcher and his AI assistant as they navigate the aftermath of a viral outbreak. Forest of Darkness takes guests on a haunted walk along the Salt River, through woods inhabited by specters of death. Terror Zone Maze is a thrilling dark maze filled with twists, strobes, 3D effects, and terror at every dead end.

Before the official October season, Scarefest is hosting two exclusive special event weekends geared toward adults 21 and older. Ghouls Night Out, scheduled for September 18 and 19 from 7 PM to 12 AM, offers a unique twist on a girls' night out, featuring a Sip & Shop local artisan vendor show with wine tastings, mixology demonstrations, crafts, and Zumba. BBQ, Bourbon & Boos, taking place September 25 and 26 from 7 PM to 12 AM, combines crisp night air with aged oak and hickory smoke, featuring a live band, local bourbon and whiskey tastings, and barbecue food selections.

Located at 34111 28 Mile Rd, Lenox Township, MI, Scarefest Scream Park has earned multiple "Best Haunted Attraction" awards in Metro Detroit from Vote4TheBest. As the park enters its landmark season, it continues to be a premier Halloween destination, offering a mix of family-friendly and intense experiences. The 20th anniversary not only marks a milestone for the park but also underscores its economic and social impact on the local community, providing jobs and supporting charitable causes. With the addition of exclusive adult-oriented events, Scarefest is expanding its appeal beyond the traditional October haunt, aiming to attract visitors seeking unique seasonal entertainment. The park's longevity and continued innovation highlight its significance in Michigan's recreational landscape, drawing both local residents and tourists to experience its signature scares and festivities.
