The Outstanding Maternity Award and Outstanding Photo Award have announced the winners of their 41st season, showcasing the work of photographers from 14 countries. Since its inception in 2014, the awards have grown into a global benchmark for family photography, celebrating the power of images to tell deep and unforgettable stories.
"Photography, by its very nature, carries the power to evoke emotion," said the organizers. "However, when an image wins an award, the impact goes beyond poetry: it brings renewed enthusiasm to the photographer and the certainty of being on the right track." The 41st season saw participation from photographers in Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Luxembourg, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Turkey, the United States, and Uruguay. The winning images celebrate the talent and dedication of artists who transform moments into works of art.
The judging panel for this season featured two distinguished photographers. Yvonne C. Krystovsky, based near Stuttgart, Germany, is an internationally acclaimed photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, family, and fine art portraiture. With a background in interior design and architecture, her work is marked by minimalism and emotional depth. She has been featured in outlets such as The Times and My Modern Met and has won top honors at the Black & White Minimalist Photography Prize. As a co-founder of the Luminar Elite Akademie and the Luminar Award, she evaluates entries based on originality, visual composition, technical excellence, and emotional connection.
Wellington Fugisse from Brazil brings over 15 years of experience and a portfolio of more than a thousand events. Known for his sensitivity and creativity, he covers weddings, family sessions, and maternity shoots. He also mentors new talents through workshops and lectures and serves as an ambassador for major industry brands. His judging criteria focus on real emotions and artistic expression.
